Gin lounged in one of the chairs, feet up on a desk, holding in his hands a lidded box, a little smaller than a hatbox perhaps, tied neatly with a ribbon. Unlike his other meetings with Susan, this time he would have been plainly visible to anyone since he was wearing his gigai (along with some rather more stylish clothes (http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/3783/gin5xk.jpg) he'd picked up somewhere along the way. His right arm still ached a little, but at least in a false body there would be nothing to indicate that he was still finishing healing after his fight with Byakuya some weeks ago.

Steeling herself for what she was sure was going to be another entirely-too-interesting conference, Susan rapped on the classroom door to announce her presence. "Hello, Gin."

She'd debated whether or not to bring the poker again, but in the end decided once again that it was better to not appear overly antagonistic. However, concealed under her new jacket (http://www.movie-gazette.com/directory/img/tilda+swinton.jpg) was what would at first glance appear to be a modern flashlight (http://www.hbselfdefense.com/telescopic.htm).

Her time at her grandfather's house had not, after all, been spent entirely on making new clothes for herself. And while studying defensive magic was all well and good, study of more mundane methods of defence was just as useful.

Perking up at Susan's arrival, Gin slid his feet off the desk and stood to greet her properly. "Hello, Susan. I hope your studies here have been going well. Learned anything new recently, perhaps?"

"Oh, this and that. I've been on a holiday of my own, in fact. I rather felt I deserved it." Bland, perfectly polite smile. "Oh, and I had a pleasant talk with your good friend Byakuya Kuchiki. A most interesting fellow. No wonder you get on so well."

"Really?" Gin's smile was neutral, voice lilting. "Well, I'm so glad that your talk was pleasant. It would have been a shame if he'd misinterpreted your intentions, after all."

"Oh no, I believe that I was entirely clear." Now, he, on the other hand, was confusing as hell, but never mind that for now. "And your holiday? How is your friend Aizen? I am so sorry I was unable to meet him."

Oh, please do not concern yourself with such a thing. In truth, I have been away for a fortnight, visiting my father. But it was a mundane visit, one which I do not wish to discuss, should we meet.

And I would be most happy to have a walk in the garden with you. We must take advantage of the approaching summer months!

In no particular rush, he was literally taking the time to stop and smell the flowers. Gin appreciated beauty -- and the lilac bushes were particularly pretty today, he felt.

Miss Woodhouse had been avoiding society somewhat since her return. She's almost certain that her disappearance made a big to-do at Hogwarts, and no doubt she was the subject of innumerable conversations. She was not so willing to answer their judging, damning questions.

Of course, Susan assured her that Gin was not a gentleman a woman allies herself to. But Emma also is not a silly little girl, a girl who lets herself fall for cruel tricks.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Ichimaru. I trust that you have been well?"

"Oh, quite." The last thing he's about to bring up is his not-so-distant fight with Byakuya. "And you're looking well yourself, Miss Woodhouse. It's so nice to see you in person again, instead of simply exchanging little letters by bird," he smiled pleasantly.

"Such a convenient manner of exchanging messages, is it not? Instead of trusting your correspondence to servants, and to have it travel so slowly. And thank you, I feel well."

She cups her hands. "I do hope that you have been successful in securing more friendships while I was away."

"I've managed to meet a few new people, and renew a couple old aquaintances," Gin remarked. "Although I'm never averse to meeting new and interesting people, of course."

"And your own friends and aquiantances are doing well too, I trust? The lovely ladies of JAILBAIT, and your roommate, Miss Susan."

"Yes, I suppose so. Though I believe Miss Ginny has encountered some drama with the last two sortings. I am not sure what precisely occurred, and it would be rude to pry." Therefore she'll do it later, so she won't have to confess such behavior to Gin.

"I hope to have the next meeting of JAILBAIT soon. Our lesson will be proper conversation with gentlemen of high stature."

Of course I haven't forgotten - you and our conversation are most memorable.

And I have finished catching up with my friend (I was right, he was worrying about things in his life I wasn't even aware of. I'm such a bad friend, you might think twice about taking me on as one!). However, your owl caught me in the act of sending one off to the Hufflepuff prefect Kaylee to ask her help in moving me into the dorms this evening, viz. our talk of heading off any further misunderstandings with my housemates.

I hope to spend tonight unpacking and getting acquainted with the place. I'm waiting for her reply now. Is there another prefect I should be checking in with? I haven't heard of one, but aren't there usually two?

I've made tentative plans for tomorrow to go wand-shopping in London with friends, depending on their schedules, but perhaps we could take that stroll tomorrow evening? If you're not busy, that is.

As far as I know, tomorrow around sunset should be fine; as I say, my schedule for the day depends on at least one other's, maybe two. I'll owl if we're going to be longer in London than I now expect.

Oh dear. I hope that popcorn thing hasn't happened to Lady Door. Wish I understood how or why that happens. To say nothing of how it unhappens from time to time. I hear the Gryffindor prefect is just back from the Popcorn Room, and it's thrown the House into a tizzy.
