After the whirlwind of her first few days at Hogwarts, Gogo's social life had quietened down somewhat. She'd spent most of the past few days in the library or abandoned classrooms, learning anything that might give her the upper hand in the inevitable (to her mind) fight against Black Mamba.

But Gogo wasn't used to her education being so... theoretical. A break was needed. It was a cool, clear evening, and she decided to take a walk around the grounds. Not as exciting as sparring - but certainly preferable to spending another moment in the increasingly-oppressive library.

Sometimes Sadako got sick of being 'Elena'.

Not that she didn't enjoy toying with Bothari's head, but it did put a crimp in her subverting other people somewhat.

Outdoor walks weren't usually her style, but she thought a trip to the lake might be refreshing. On the way, she spotted one of her new housemates. Well, shit, she had been at Gin's little potluck dinner, hadn't she? Well, maybe she'd be able to explain the Elena thing to her, if she seemed sufficiently trustworthy.

She faintly recognised the other girl; she'd been too preoccupied with Primavera at the Hufflepuff meeting to notice much else. She raised a hand in greeting. "You're another Hufflepuff, aren't you? I'm afraid I didn't get your name. I'm Yubari Gogo."

"Yes, I'm in Hufflepuff." She peered at Gogo through her hair, trying to get a feeling for her. "I'm... you can call me Elena."

There was something - something vaguely wrong with the way Elena had introduced herself, but Gogo couldn't put her finger on exactly what. "Alright," she said, cautiously. "Did you enjoy Ichimaru-san's meeting the other evening?"

"Truthfully?" She giggled. "I found it a bit dull."

A smile tugged at the corners of Gogo's mouth. "Yes... my friend wasn't very well, but what I heard of the meeting wasn't quite what I'd expected."

"I was... rather constrained myself. Playing the dutiful wife."

"Wife? You're... married?"

"I've been letting him think so."

Gogo cocked her head, thinking about this. Perhaps... "Would you like to walk with me - Elena-san? You seem very interesting. You convinced someone that you were married to him?"

Falling into step beside Gogo, Sadako smiled."It didn't take much convincing. It seems I am very like his 'wife'."

"Why, though?" She could think of many reasons, of course, but she didn't know nearly enough to guess at which was right.
