Flying was becoming a familiar, comforting thing.

Actually trying to practice, though... that was less comfortable. But there was definitely something satisfying, Nny reflected, about hitting bludgers through the air, looping around as they swung back towards them, and smacking them away again.

"That is nice to know." Grinning, Nny flew a tight loop. "It'd be a shame if I wasn't good company."

"You're wonderful company. I must say again, I don't know what I'd do without you."

Nny blushed vividly at that. "I know I've said it before, but you really are sweet. No-one else talks to me that way."

"They should. I really think that they should."

"There aren't many people it'd mean much coming from anyhow."

"Oh, now you are complimenting me..."

"Well, that's only fair. I mean, I'm never shy about showing my distaste for the bulk of humanity. Why should I hesitate to praise the few exceptions?"

"Really?" Nny smiled, more gently than usual. "I should do it more often, then."

"If nothing else, it's good having someone who cares about my opinion."

"I'm glad that you think it's a good thing."

"Well, it's true, I mean. That there aren't many people I care about, whose opinions I care about... not long ago I would have said there weren't any."

Teatime flew a bit closer, smiling. "I'm very glad that you'd want to be anywhere near me. So many people don't seem to want to."

"Well, I like you. I do. You're interesting to talk to and you don't act like I'm creepy and unpleasant." He flushed again and looked away. "It, um. Doesn't hurt that you're cute, too."

Teatime laughed. "Do you really think I'm cute? I think you're the only person that's ever called me cute before. Or for a long time, anyways."
