Brienne was not one for writing formally worded petitions. In fact, she'd labored over this one on the compy for several hours, mostly because she wasn't a quick typist, but also because she wanted the wording to be just right. She still wasn't entirely convinced she'd actually sold the idea well, but she decided there was nothing for it but to put the petition up in front of the school.
Consequently, a notice appeared in the Great Hall.
A Petition for the Sorting Hat:
We, the undersigned, would like to petition the Sorting Hat to grant us, in its inimitable wisdom, a gymnasium in the common room of Gryffindor House.
We believe a gymnasium would make it easier for students to pursue physical exercise when it is prohibitively cold outdoors. Further, a gymnasium would provide opportunities for a variety of ways in which to work out. Also, Gryffindor is the only house without some sort of amenity in its common room, so it is only fair we be awarded this small thing.
This petition will be delivered to the Sorting Hat once 50 signatures have been collected. Students need not be Gryffindors in order to sign up, as the gymnasium would be available to everyone who wished to use it. Ideas for possible features to be included in this gymnasium are welcome as well.
After having signed her own name, Brienne made herself walk away from the parchment, though she would, of course, check back regularly to see if anyone had actually signed it.
