Jayne had been having a good time since his unpopcorning. He'd met some interesting folks, learned how to make booze with magic (OK, he hadn't really gotten the hang of that yet, but he was working on it!), and shown off his theme song at karaoke night. He still missed Mal and Zoe - more than he was willing to admit - but maybe they'd come back someday, the way he had.

At the moment, he was sitting in the Gryffindor common room examining the dueling pistols he'd gotten from Screwtape at his Sorting. They looked to be in good condition, but old as hell - antiques - and he knew from long experience that they could probably use some cleaning, no matter how nice they looked on the outside. So he fetched a cloth, a few tools, and some gun oil from his dorm room, and without regard for the cleanliness of the common room table, began to take the guns apart.

He hadn't really met any of his fellow Gryffindors yet. Maybe some of them would happen along - preferably some attractive female ones. He could only hope.

((Jayne has carelessly left the door ajar, so come bug him if you want.))

I'm taking my pups on a short hiatus. Apologies to those I'm in RPs with, but there's some RL stuff I need to take care of. IC explanations for where characters are:

Dawn is lost in the library. It may take a while for her to find her way out, but hey, at least she's happy.

Screwtape is catching up on his correspondence and plotting against you, yes *you*.

Franz Liebkind is working on his musical, holed up in his room with his piano and his pigeons.

Amanda's exporing the school's secret passages. No, no particular reason; why do you ask?

Death's here, there, everywhere.
