(( Apologies to all the cat-muns for the delay on this -- feel free to backdate the reception of this as far back as anytime after Stephen turned back into a man, if you need to! ))

Dear Miss Rumpleteazer:

I am pleased to report that my laboratory assistant has made a discovery which enabled us to create a working prototype of the potion you requested. You and whichever of your feline brethren are in need of it may visit my office at any time you choose. Please understand, though, that it is only a prototype, and in taking it you may incur a risk of unintended side effects.

Elwood had spent the greater part of the morning examining the school, trying to get a feel for the environment. It was, as he had found very early on, going to take some time to understand; the place was big enough even without considering the moving staircases and secret passages. Not to say that he minded, though. This made for an interesting time, and he figured that if he could begin to work out the routes, he would be well set in case of trouble.

He eyed the paintings, curious sights with their moving figures. A few had startled him by speaking, but by now he had gotten somewhat used to them, and tried his best not to be bothered by them. Some had even proven helpful, directing him toward a somewhat hidden passage. At this point, Elwood was going to be picky; he'd take help where he could find it.

Hedwig finds Lily, nuzzles her neck a little and allows her to remove a letter and a little package from her leg.

The note reads ExpandDear Lily )

The package holds a sugar mouse with a ribbon around its neck and some chocolate frogs.

Grant kneeled by the coffee table in his living quarters, carefully inspecting the glue he had just painted on to a fossil. It had been almost two weeks since he had taken a de-aging potion, and most of that time had been spent in his office or in front of his latest project. The glue was an adhesive in an acetone-based solvent, and could easily be dissolved with nail polish to fix any mistakes. The downside, though, was that the fumes gave him a headache after about half an hour. Grant dipped a cotton swab in acetone, cleaned a glob of glue off of the matrix, then closed up the bottle and opened a window. The small was still to strong, so he decided to walk to the Great Hall for a cup of coffee to clear his head.

((Mel-mun cleared my slight godmodding here.))

Newly Sorted into Gryffindor, Brice was walking aimlessly through the corridors, his hands shoved deep into his jeans pockets. He was trying to make a mental map of the place, but had to give up after five minutes. Hogwarts was huge. A part of him hoped to find Mel, to make things less confusing.

And suddenly there she was. She was sitting on a bench in the corridor, deeply engulfed in the Angel Handbook and obviously not aware that he was there. Brice casually strolled up to her.

"Hey angel girl, how's it going?" he asked, grinning.
