I wasn't, no. But it has been known to happen. It's even a preferred technique of some assassins.

Oh that was ages ago. And It wasn't so much sex as- Well never mind. It was complicated and frankly nothing to brag about, just between you and me. [rolls his eyes]

He'd known something had to go wrong, of course it would, but oh, did it have to be so soon? Couldn't he have at least a few years?

He knew his way around by now, and the Little Green Apple was a familiar destination. He claimed a table and after taking one look at his face, La Fee Verte brought him a Sidecar and hurried to fix more.

[he arrives a few minutes later, hand shoved deep into the pockets of his coat and looking embarrassed]

He'd finished one by then, and was well into his second. Seeing the Doctor brought an embarrassing rush of relief.

"Here? She'd give you pure grain alcohol if you asked for it."

"I'll take that then.'

He chuckles and sits across from him, not looking up for a moment.

"Look, about what i said..."

"About what you said." He was very quiet, very still. As quiet as the echoing silent places in his head. It kept him from screaming and throwing furniture.

"I didn't mean... Well I did, the part about last night being.... Oh I'm rubbish at his." He leaned back in his chair and stared at the ceiling.

"I mean I guess it's still me whether I remember or not, yeah? And I do.....you know. Trust you. Never even slept around Rose. Cept in the beginning."

Oh, not Rose again. Wasn't one regeneration wittering on about Rose enough?

"So why don't you tell me why you're being..." The Master finished his drink and took a deep, shaky breath. "You know how I usually deal with quarrels. I don't have the energy for that. Damn it, I'm trying to communicate with you, and now you're cross because someone made an accusation. Because, of course, no one could possibly want to slander me."

"Look, I'm sorry, I am it's just...." He took a deep drink, hissing at the burn. "I wasn't ever expecting to see you again.... That time I spent waiting for the regeneration to start, sitting in your room and thinking the last I ever saw of you was the back of your head.... Not even the point...."

He was getting sidetracked. "I just really wanted to believe after all that.... You know. I trust you. you saved my life....sort of. i mean i went and messed it up but you still saved me and oh I don't even know." He dropped his forehead onto the table and made a frustrated noise.
