They'd raced through the dungeon, Kuronue taking the West end, Kurama the East, and by the time they met up again, every water pipe in the place was glowing a different color. Some were even alight with colors that didn't even exist, or sparkled and dripped in disconcerting ways.

"Excellent," Kurama grinned, shoving his wand back into its holster. "I wonder what'll happen once the sprinklers go on in the greenhouses."

There was a long pause of contemplation.

"I think you might wanna take a day or two off work," Kuronue said, catching a distant tinkle of glass as something in that general area broke. Or, broke free.

"D'you think we might not have planned this out too carefully?" Kurama asked.

Another long pause.

“Still, you know... No need to get tentacle raped or something.” Kuronue looked oddly pleased at the possibility of such happening however. Especially since he knew it was possible.

Well, it was Kurama.

((OOC - Kuro socking done with mun approval. Basic chocolate plot rules apply, all the water in the school is magicked, cursed, charmed, and so forth, all with different effects up to the mun. Have fun!))

"HI! YOU LOOK FAMILIAR SOMEHOW!" Miranda yelled, then clapped her hand over her mouth. "I MEAN, I MIGHT..." Her voice trailed off as she realized she was still screaming.

Jing looked over his shoulder, unsure whether to laugh or look appalled. He'd Beowulf, who hadn't with his voice, but he hadn't expected anyone else, much less the shy girl he'd talked to before, to be that loud. "We've met," he said, his voice torn between a whisper and a yell and laughing. "Miranda, right?" he said, his voice settling into a more normal range.

"YES!" She shook her head and gave a small smile at his laughter. "THE WATER IS MESSED UP HERE! ARE YOU OK?"

"Oh, so that's the cause," Jing mused. "I haven't had any yet." He looked at her sympathetically. "These things don't ever last too long," he added, trying to help her feel better a little.

"I DON'T WANT TO SPEND THE REST OF MY LIFE LIKE BEOWULF!" She shouted.

Jing held out his elbow to her. "Here, we'll go for a walk and I could tell you a story?" he suggested.

Miranda nodded and took his elbow.

Jing led her out to the courtyard, considering what story to tell her. "When I was little, there were fairies that would take girls," he began. "It didn't matter much, except one of my friends, Cass, was a girl but she dressed like a boy to fool the fairies. One day, they found out and took her." He frowned. "I got a gift from my Mother then, too, but I couldn't use it yet." He looked at her. "See, my right hand didn't work right then," he said, holding out his hand, now completely fine.

Miranda took his hand. Weirdly, he didn't seem all that much younger at the moment.

She gave him a sympathetic and encouraging look, with a nod. Of course she didn't want to risk screaming out her sympathies.

"When it came time to use it, though, it fell and broke," he said, looking up at the sky. "But, it was okay, because an egg had decided to follow me and it hatched into Kir. Kir was able to join with my right hand and we fought the fairies and rescued Cass." He sighed. "Kir likes girls, a lot," he said, laughing a little, though there was some sadness in it. "I miss Kir sometimes." He looked at Miranda. "He'd flirt with you," he said, smiling at her.

Miranda tilted her head, curiously. Her eyes widened as she heard about the egg and she looked at his hand closely. "WHAT WAS HE!?"

Jing grinned at her. "An albatross," he said. "Strange here, but not where I'm from," he added with a shrug.

"AH." Miranda shook her head, as if trying to clear it. The picture of a big bird attached to the boy's head was indeed weird.

"HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT THE WATER?"

"I heard someone yelling about it, and I had a hunch," he admitted. He might have been watching, too, seeing if the time was right to steal things back from a certain demon. "Most of the time, these things wear off," he said, patting her hand.
