Just...Hangin' Around (Open RP)

There's two birds (bats, really) hanging from improbable places about Hogwarts. Yes, Kuronue had discovered a spell that allowed him to walk on the ceiling. It wasn't all that different to the anti-gravity one really, and it only took some minor tweaking. He was beginning to think that, maybe, there was something good about this Wizard magic after all.

Miyako, his newly acquired fruit bat, whom had a fox-like face and ears, hung from the leather binding on his arm. She munched on an apple, dropping the pulp to the ground, leaving a trail wherever they decided to go.

Kuronue himself was supposedly incognito, because he'd been stealing again. Kusuriyuri had apparently discovered the source of his disappearing possessions and that put Kuronue in a tricky position. He could not act until he had a plan.

So he started stealing everyone else's things to amuse himself.

Mind you, if you want them back, just follow the trail and ask for them. You'll get them back if you ask nicely and if he likes you.

(What was stolen and where Kuronue appears is entirely up to the muns. <3)

((Hope you don't mind someone joining in who didn't have anything stolen? HH's original batty needs to meet the new bat kid! Joachim's a powerful psychic but as a general rule only picks up surface thoughts or nothing at all due to Hogwarts' magic-field-thingy interference, so let me know if it's okay for him to be able to read Kuronue and/or Miyako's thoughts at all.))

The recently unpopcorned which will probably take place in a future backdated post and freshly bathed Joachim was presently chillin' in his most inconspicuous form, that of a bat. He was larger than the fruit bat and possessed an unusual silvery pelt and blue eyes, as well as elongated fangs, even in this form, but those weren't immediately obvious due to his head being tucked within his leathery wings. He was still wet from his bath, and occasionally gave a little shiver to help the drying process along. When the demon and fruit bat pair happened upon him in one of the many corridors of Hogwarts, where he'd been hanging from the ceiling for the last while, he raised his head and made a chittering sound, flicking his wet ears forward in curiosity.

Kuronue made an amused sound in return and tilted his head curiously. "I haven't seen anyone with your kind of colourings before," he said, wandering over and crouching down by the silver coloured bat. He wasn't a master on bat species, since the Demon World ones tended to differ, but still, the bat didn't have the typical energy of a animal. Well it did, but it felt much more like a tengu. This made him a little weary, though he didn't show it.

"Hei. Ce mai faceţi?" he asked Kuronue and his pretty little lady friend, not in the squeaky voice of a bat, but that of a young man. His polite, friendly greeting also echoed within their minds: Hey. How are you?

It took a few seconds for the translation charm to take effect, helpfully rendering Joachim's Romanian into whichever default language Kuronue would best understand and which for the muns' sake will be presented in plain English. The only indication that Joachim wasn't actually speaking said language was his telling accent.

"There is, after all, only one of me, and we have not met before," he continued aloud, and chittered a bit more at Miyako, very likely flirting with her. He couldn't really help it, since taking the form of a creature meant partially having its mentality.

Cue odd brotherly protectiveness from Kuronue regarding the flirting flying in Miyako's direction. Bat-talk wasn't really all that different from the language his colony had spoken in the Demon World, so he understood most of it. His normal language was Demonic first and Japanese second, however.

"Ah, I didn't think you were a bat. We have not met, no. I'm Kuronue," he offered, inclining his head a little in lieu of a bow.

Miyako sent a glare at Kuronue and then began chittering right back at Joachim. Kuronue wilted a little.

Joachim mirrored the gesture by inclining his head too, then flicked his ears back and squinted in a distinctly amused batty fashion at the exchange between the pair. They were friends, and not mates, then?

"I am Joachim." Which for the record is pronounced something like ah-heem / yoh-heem, but thanks to Cooper (http://community.livejournal.com/hogwarts_hocus/396736.html?thread=18916800#t18916800) (or Special, as Joachim had dubbed him), he'd also respond to 'Joe' and 'Squeakerella'. He stretched his wings and gave another shiver to shake more of the water off, then carefully picked his way across the ceiling, moving closer to where Kuronue was crouched. "Are you giving free rides, Kuronue?" he inquired while reaching toward the demon with one of his thumbs. He sometimes took personal space as a suggestion rather than a rule.

"You." Matt stared up glaring at Kuronue. "You have my cigarettes. Also, I have to talk to you."

"Oh. do I?" he said, tilting his head and grinning down at him. He did a little flip and swung from a rafter for a moment, letting Miyako place herself on it.

"What do you need to talk to me about?" he asked, hooking his legs over the beam and hanging freely, his arms and hair pointing towards the ground. He noted that Matt seemed to know him and yet he didn't know who the hell Matt was.

Matt held out his hands for the cigarettes. "Sources tell me you're Kurama's friend, correct?"

For a second, Kuronue though about denying him, but he was at heart, a curious creature. "That would be true." He pulled the pack of cigarettes from his vest and plucked out a single cigarette. He dropped it down to Matt. "You'll get the rest when you continue," he said, grinning.

One worked for now. Matt lit up.

"So, if, perchance, a rogue demon came back to Hogwarts and tried to attack Kurama or someone in his circle, you'd try to defend them?"

"Ooh, that looks like fun. I wanna try!" And since shinigami didn't exactly follow the rules of physics anyway, it wasn't too long before Ryuk joined him on the ceiling.

Also, something of his has been stolen, but he hasn't noticed yet. Mainly cause the mun hasn't decided if it will be the usual apple or possibly Ryuk's Death Note.

"Ryuk!" he cried, pleased to see the shinigami (despite having possibly stolen his Death Note, which the mun would be more than okay with) who'd provided him with good times and kisses. "What's shakin'?" he asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

"Not much. Boring people in the Sorting Room, and I can't find any of my usual people to bother." Ryuk went to his pouch to get one of his apples, and noticed then that his Death Note was gone.

"Hey, where'd it go?"

He made a sympathetic sound, looking completely innocent. "Oh for the days when the Sorting Rooms was filled with perverted posters (http://community.livejournal.com/hogwarts_hocus/1875234.html?thread=104312354#t104312354) and pretty women," he moaned, crossing his arms over his chest.

He raised an eyebrow. "Where'd what go?"

"My Death Note! Did I drop it? Mello will be pissed if I did." Heh. Technically, this means Kuronue's the rightful Death Note owner, I think.

How had anyone gotten into his Chamber of Doom? It was warded to a fare-thee-well with arcane spells galore, and sealed with pentacles of gory stagepaint! The only people who had any business being there were chinchillas and Lezard himself. And Mio. And, technically, Griffin the invisible man (http://community.livejournal.com/hogwarts_hocus/1756193.html?mode=reply).

And -- setting aside the how and why of the mysterious intruder's entry -- why had he or she left all Lezard's mystical artifacts untouched, opting instead to steal Tyrion Lannister's porn collection (http://community.livejournal.com/hogwarts_hocus/1664952.html)?

It boggled the very mind. Lezard was stalking around the castle trying to figure out what had happened. This mostly involved a lot of mumbling and cape-swishing.

Kuronue couldn't resist fucking with Lezard. After all he probably still thought he was a woman and honestly, the protection around his room had been a giant flashing sign that said something special was inside. There were lots of nice trinkets, but honestly, it had been the porn that caught his eye first.

He tapped Miyako lightly and she spat out the pulp off her apple. It fell, and Kuronue couldn't help but grin as it landed on Lezard's shoulder as he passed. He followed him on the roof, rather amused with the man already.

Kayo asked a couple of people around, trying to find Kuronue. She had a carefully wrapped bundle for him, with a few yukatas, a haori and a hakama. She wandered the halls in her green kimono that she had made for herself for her part-time at The Green Apple.

He could tell her by her footsteps. Making his way to her, he urged Miyako to climb onto his back and swung down from the rafters, landing without much sound. His blood quickened in his veins, excitement thrumming through him. Beautiful, untouchable Kayo...

"Hello," he greeted in a soft voice, having dropped down behind her.

Kayo let out a little "eep!" and scrambled not to drop her package. She fiddled with it until it was secure in her arms and she let out a relieved sigh. She turned around (having now composed herself) and gave Kuronue a brilliant smile.

"Hello!" she said, her voice chipper. She extended her arms, offering up the package. "Here you are! Sorry it took so long, Kuronue-san."

He smiled a little and leaned forward to take the bundle from her, brushing his fingers along hers as he did. "Thank you, Kayo," he said, smiling at her. "I don't mind having waited. Have you been well?"

Kurama saw Kuronue before the reverse was true, which was probably just as well. He had Belophoebe with him, trailing along on her own, pausing every so often to try and trip him with affection. If she got her sights on that little bat that was flitting about with his -- with Kuronue, then there would be trouble.

He picked Belophoebe up and stroked her back, murmuring magic-laced instructions that bats were No Longer Food. She purred, oblivious as he did so, and only looked up when he stopped speaking and started walking towards Kuronue.

"Seems you've found yourself a pet," Kurama said in greeting. Stating the obvious was always a safe way to start a conversation, right?

Yukimura already knew about Miyako, and so that voice could only belong to once person (unless Yukimura was suffering from amnesia or something).

He supposed they had to talk and smooth things over at some point though, right? He kind of owed Kurama an apology. He urged Miyako to hold on as he jumped from the ceiling down to a rafter and then hung upside down for a moment, regarding his old friend. "I have indeed. A was most kind," he said tentatively.

Miyako stared at the feline, then squeaked at it as she clutched onto Kuronue's vest and the bindings holding it together.

"It's his best quality," Kurama agreed, knowing that the conversation would wind down too soon, that the inevitable awkward silence after would be unbearable. "What did you name it?"

Belophoebe, meanwhile, was poufing her muzzle at the bat, making chatty little noises in response to the squeaks. What the two animals talked about was anyone's guess.

"Night Child. Miyako," he supplied, watching the two converse with amusement.

Kuronue fidgeted a little, then cradled Miyako with one hand as he flipped himself upright, keeping a hold on the beam. He dropped down once he'd stopped swinging, using his wings to make the landing soft.
