Rebounding and Resounding ((Open RP, L, Great Hall))

While not exactly the easiest thing to do, L, aka Ryuuzaki, was adjusting his own manner of thinking. He felt he'd reached some degree of success when he took A shopping rather than question his potential preparedness. He was making a concerted effort and when he made a concerted effort, things happened.

Concerted efforts also required sustenance. And, while eating in his room was adequate, L knew that, as part of his programme to change, he needed to get out more often. So, rather than request cheesecake and tea be brought to his room, he ventured out to the Great Hall, perching on a bench, adding copious amounts of sugar to his tea. Glucose, after all, was vital for brain functioning.

"It is very important," L said, brushing his fingers along the back of Matt's hands. "They are rather adept."

"They are good at what they do." Matt grinned naughtily. "Want to see what they can do?"

L pressed Matt's thumb to the corner of his mouth. "I would be very interested in what they can do," he said. "Such research is critical."

"Ah, but it is very secret research. Only one grant given in a lifetime." Matt was having fun with this.

And then he'll drag L into a closet.

L smiled. "And, what are the grant requirements so that I can apply," L asked, familiar enough with this game to play along.

"Well, you've already met the mental requirements. But the research is very...strenuous, and one would need to know if your body is physically capable of taking it."

L looked at Matt seriously. "Then, we should find out," he decided. "This is very important research, after all."

"You are lucky. I know of a handy testing spot nearby. And I can secure it so no one can enter or leave until the test is concluded."

L mocked consideration for a moment, looking at the remaining cheesecake. "It would be very unwise to interrupt such testing," he concluded.

"It would corrupt the results and you would have to start all over again." Matt got up and held out a hand for L.

L took Matt's hand before hopping off the bench. "That could hamper your research, push back timelines. We wouldn't want to hold up progress," he said.

"No, we wouldn't. Once stopped, research is not easily started again."

Two bucks says they only make it to an empty classroom.

Not even really started and there's snarking already...*tsk*

L shook his head in agreement. "No, it is rather difficult to restart and retrace ground. The results could be compromised or important steps missed."

"Now the question would be 'do we conduct the testing in familiar surroundings or neutral ground?"

Meh.

L blinked, his own thumb pressed to the corner of his mouth as they walked. "Would familiarity corrupt the results?" he asked, concerned. As long as they were not in public, he wasn't terribly picky about location.

"Quite possibly. And unfamiliar surroundings allow you the opportunity to be...creative." Matt turned L down a hall where he knew few traveled. There were also a good selection of empty classrooms.

"And creativity is a requisite?" L asked, moving slightly closer to Matt. "I would have thought that would have been under the mental criteria, not the physical." He let his hand brush accidentally against Matt's ass.

"Well, one would love to see how the two work together. One can have brains and brawn." Okay, he cracked. Matt opened the door to one of the empty classrooms. "And here we are."

L followed closely behind Matt. "Brawn is not a word that is typically used for someone of my stature," L pointed out, better at staying in his role.

"Agility, then? Flexibility?" he asked as he pulled L in.

L followed willingly, wrapping his arms around Matt's waist. "Those are words that have been used," he allowed. He trailed one hand up Matt's back. "Just what is this test, then?" he asked.

Matt locked the door, warded it, and then pushed L up against it. "The first one is this," he said, grinning, before kissing L passionately.

L would have said something, but his mouth was quite pleasantly occupied returning Matt's kiss. He let his hands caress Matt's back, over his clothing, seeking out hems to slip under, but then his fingers found something quite pleasant to hang onto so the idea of getting under clothing to reach skin was delayed for more immediate satisfaction.

Matt squeaked slightly as L grasped him, and pulled away a bit. "You learn quickly," was all he said before going back in for more. As for him, he leaned further into L, pinning him against the wall.

L was very pleased to be pinned to the wall. While Matt preferred that he take charge, L very much enjoyed when Matt 'stole' the inititive from him. The only thing that disappointed, if it could be called that, was that Matt didn't allow him time for repartee, but he was far too pleased with his oral activities to truly protest.
