As the muns plot ((Compy post))

So, yes, the muns are plotting. Poor Maddie, the target of that plotting. Little does she know that as she goes into the Compy Lab to see what horrorswonders await her.

Behold, the BBS, which, only occasionally like the BBC, is calling her name.

Actually, I don't believe the BBC called Maddie.

The mun has a disgraceful habit of following bunny trails in Maddie's posts. Let us get to the point, if you please.

Maddie goes into the Compy Lab and after registering the very clever screenname of "MysteryAuthor" posts the following:

As one who is new to this bulletin board service style of posting,
I was wondering how does one integrate this into normal social gatherings? 
Is it an adjunct to mixers and face to face contact or a replacement for them?

Maddie really doesn't know much about these things.

I can see your point. These are different from the computers I'm used to
since they are able to communicate with each other. That was still rather new
when I'm from. And, it is easier to avoid people this way.
Are there people you're trying to avoid?

Anyone I’m looking to avoid is either dead or they have no idea where I am, which I prefer. There are friends I would like to contact again, but I do think that might put them in some danger, so I’m content to remain quietly here.
As for the computers, they are in a constant state of remaking themselves. Give it a week and I guarantee you that most of the ones in the lab will be considered obsolete.

A week? My word. These computer things move quickly, don't they? The last I
had heard, it was every six months...or maybe every year. Different people would
tell you different things, depending on what they were trying to sell you on.
There is someone I'd like to see again, partially to see what he'd think of this
place. He created tricks for a stage magician.

The magician he worked for was rather popular, but something of a smarmy git.
Before I arrived here, I was an investigative journalist and author.

We needn't go into how her books really didn't sell that well until Jonathan started working with her. That would bruise her ego...all over again.

Also, let's pretend the mun can reply from the right journal.

An investigative journalist? What sort of things did you investigate?

Primarily murder cases. It is the right of the accused to
request that a member of the press investigate their case
to see if there had been any miscarriages of justice or by
the police.

There are days the mun should just reply from email.

A noble job indeed, defending the right of the accused. What do you find yourself doing now? I'm sure Hogwarts doesn't exactly have an overtaxed justice system that would require such services.

I haven't noticed that Hogwarts has any type of justice system at all. No recourse
for students who are abused by others here. Nothing that anyone can or will do.
Even those who call themselves professors are next to useless in regards to any
form
of discipline! And the Hat is even more useless.

It is something of a free-for-all around here, isn't it? What about the Gryffindors? Aren't they supposed to be the brave souls that champion the weak?

If not, perhaps those students who find themselves abused should find and make friends with someone stronger who can defend them when necessary. There's no shame in asking for help.

Not that he'd volunteer to do so..

I did spend some time investigating a group that the
house elves call the 'Alphabet Gang' as most of them will
use single letters as aliases. They seem to have bound
together for that purpose, though they were also familiar
with each other prior to their arrival here. It seems that recently,
though, some others have been brought into that particular
group. I'm not investigating much as their leader fancies
himself a mafia boss or something.

That, and the mun's not fond of socking those two.
