So, the talking hat (which was somehow more intimidating than a talking fridge) had placed Satou in Ravenclaw. The trouble was,he had no idea what that meant, and the bizarre little bug-eyed big-eared creatures he'd seen scuttling around unnerved him too much to try and ask.

He had, however, taken Kurama's promise of free room and board to heart, and a bit of wandering had lead him to the Great Hall, which happened to have a modest buffet laid out. Jackpot! Before anyone could tell him he couldn't, he took a plate and began piling on fish and chips (mostly fish).

That was the board part seen to. Now he needed to sort out the room.

She shrugged. "Mostly I don't think about it. Death is an adventure I'm not ready for."

"As bad as?" She didn't quite understand that. He was a little too fuzzy in that department to tell.

"Being is adventurous. The process of being born is adventurous." She got down from her chair, crouching in front of him again.

"The human female body is made up in such a way that it should be impossible for our race to continue. Not just the process of conception, but of even growing in the womb is so difficult for a single potential to manage that actually making it through gestation is a miracle. The stresses put on a human body just by existing are even more insane."

"If it were possible, but I'd think that, after you go through all the trouble of being born, you should use your body to its fullest. You wouldn't buy clothing only to wear it once, or food only to take one bite, would you?"

"Good point." She looked thoughtful a moment. "Yours looks fine. What's the matter with it? Disease? Cancer? Birth defect? It isn't visible, whatever it is."

"Impure thoughts isn't considered a birth defect. That's completely natural." She said so quite matter-of-factly. "While technically it could be a regulation in some part of your body that causes you to think certain things, but it's really all dictated by your brain's various functions. Is it your brain you don't want? Is it somehow problematic?"

"Hm, than perhaps a shut down is required. How unfortunate."

"That's why it's unfortunate. You can't. I suppose you'll have to make do with what you've got, for the time being. Thankfully, this place is good for getting used to yourself."

"The food is the best part," she grinned. Of course, she was biased. "Oh, you're Japanese... A and I are looking for suggestions of recipes for a spring festival, Japanese-style. What do you like to eat?"

She looked contemplative. "I bet we could make a big batch of curry, like we did with chili... do you like beef curry or vegetable curry? Do you think we should make both?"

"That's what we'll make, then. With mayonnaise for taste. And cold barley tea, if it's warm out." Admittedly, she was picking parts of that out of his brain.

"As you like," her grin grew wider. The opportunity to cook was making her giddy. "I'm going to learn how to make bento boxes," she confided. She'd been looking things up in the primitive little playground they called a computer lab, finding all kinds of new things.
