I'm waiting for a print job to finish, so here I am dinking around. Where did you get the idea for your characters' user names? Are they witty, or just the first thing you could think of?

[livejournal.com profile] dinosaurman comes from JP3, where Ellie's kid keeps calling Grant the Dinosaur Man. Eventually, Grant calls himself that so that the kid will recognize him over the phone.
[livejournal.com profile] damien_thorn I figured that not many people would be familiar with Damien.
[livejournal.com profile] bone_not_rock I screwed this one up. In the movie, Billy says that the fossil is technically rock, not bone. If pressed, I'll claim that it's actually a sneaky reference to human frailty.
[livejournal.com profile] fields_4ever Strawberry Fields Forever. Creative, I know.
[livejournal.com profile] 3rd_retirement I'm not sure if this one is accurate, because death might have been Mathis' second retirement, not third.
[livejournal.com profile] blond_bondshell I actually apped James Bond just for that username. Just to make it clear which Bond it is.
[livejournal.com profile] ah_aha Tenel Ka says this about once or twice per conversation, and it looks better than "thisisafact"
[livejournal.com profile] hot_german Dieter is hot and German. What more do you need?
[livejournal.com profile] tako_time is a play on words of an Oregon-grown Mexican fast-food chain, Taco Time.
[livejournal.com profile] invisiblemadman is the only thing I could think of after finding out that any variation of "nowyoudont" was taken.

[livejournal.com profile] darkwithoutme Around that time in the English dub of Death Note Misa says that she can't live in a world without Light and L says that yes, it would be dark.
[livejournal.com profile] 11assumption21 Walter is the 11th out of 21 victims for the 21 Sacraments with the theme of Assumption.
[livejournal.com profile] fatedjune referring to Rika's game on her fate of June 1983.
[livejournal.com profile] notamushi Ginko is the name of a giant white mushi Yoki(Ginko) had to give an eye to so that he could continue living as a human. Eventually his other eye will disappear as well and he will become a mushi.

[livejournal.com profile] 12panelwonder Almost literally, Matt only shows up in the manga for about twelve panels before he is killed off. Maybe ten minutes tops in the anime. (Yet he's one of the most popular characters.)

[livejournal.com profile] gatorsurfing Technically inaccurate, since I am playing the original Ace, but a future Ace literally airsurfed on an alligator to get to his foe.

[livejournal.com profile] gourmetchairman Kaga is chairman of the Gourmet Academy. That's about it.

[livejournal.com profile] kidnappedweekly Peach's role in most of the storyline games. And the Adventure mode in Smash Bros Brawl.

[livejournal.com profile] livingaustria He's alive and he's Austria. What else can I say?

[livejournal.com profile] lucien_caron The Day of the Jackal is probably the most obscure of my fandoms, and Caron the most obscure character, so it was best to just use his name. That and you don't really know anything about him outside of the Jackal case.

[livejournal.com profile] omg_sunflora Sunflora has three catchphrases: Oh my gosh, Eek, and Yippie. I went with the one that translates to internet speak best.

[livejournal.com profile] papayagami What Soichiro tends to be called in fandom, particularly in the [livejournal.com profile] capslock_dn community.

[livejournal.com profile] ringo_raver Ringo is the Japanese word for apple. In the second Death Note opening, it's....rather trippy and metal. Anyway, at one point, you see Ryuk dancing in front of bright lights holding his apple. It looked like a rave. Hence, apple raver. I just used the Japanese word for alliteration.

[livejournal.com profile] vislor_turlough Okay, here I just got lazy, this is Turlough's full name.

[livejournal.com profile] woocha Wishbone's catchphrase.

[livejournal.com profile] righteous_pen: Fairly self-explanatory. Mikami is apparently very fond of his pen. And all the wittier things I could come up with seemed to have been taken already.

[livejournal.com profile] oneof_me: From the line in Thief of Time when Susan first meets Unity - "I was one of them," said Lady LeJean. "Now I rather think I'm one of me." She was also the only Auditor to develop proper self-awareness without her head asploding, so there really is only one of her.

[livejournal.com profile] ra_tilt_chimera: One of the things Zel's noted for is being powerful enough to use the strongest attack spell in Shamanic magic, the Ra-Tilt. The rest is pretty obvious.

[livejournal.com profile] ostianespionage: Matthew's a spy from Ostia. This one's not all that witty.

[livejournal.com profile] soggynotecards: "Soggy" from the water powers, of course, and "notecards" from the scene in the Underworld where he pulls one out and reads his orders off of it. I can't help thinking that games where you have "missions" would actually work like that.

[livejournal.com profile] margrat: Running together "Margueriff" (Gustav's surname) and "Sand Rat Cellar" (where he goes to ground in-game).

[livejournal.com profile] spiderthatwaits: One of Selvetarm's titles is "The Spider That Waits."

[livejournal.com profile] jezzthespoon: I was reading the D&D sourcebook that had his profile and statistics, and one thing that struck me about his gear list was the inclusion of a Murlynd's Spoon - a magical item which provides nutritious gruel for four on a daily basis. Not at all flashy, but very practical, which fit in with the occasions he plays the (disregarded) voice of reason. Also a play on "Mack the Knife."

[livejournal.com profile] misoramassacre: Naomi's FBI nickname according to Another Note.

From: [identity profile] maid-brienne.livejournal.com
Since two of the characters I play are ones I've adopted the journals for, I can't entirely answer this. Except... well, [livejournal.com profile] maid_brienne is obvious. Her name is Brienne. She's called the Maid of Tarth. But why Nny, the original Luna-mun, called the journal [livejournal.com profile] whosneverbeen, I have absolutely no idea.

As for the rest:

[livejournal.com profile] beets_r_god was suggested by Siri. Funnily, when I created the journal, my fingers typed the abbreviated "r" instead of "are", even though it still would have worked. My Dwight muse would like to point out that this laziness on my part should be punished, because no way would he use Netspeak in any form. Anyway, Dwight's a beet farmer in canon and is always professing the beneficial effects of eatig beets.

[livejournal.com profile] nerdsexgoddess is also self-explanatory. Amaranth is a nerd. She's an avatar of a goddess. And she likes sex. Plus, I like the name.

[livejournal.com profile] rarebookangel: Well, Aziraphale in canon owned a bookshop. And he's an angel.

[livejournal.com profile] hopalongmcgurk: This is actually an alias Oly used after her life in the carnival for her radio work.

[livejournal.com profile] wrinklesintime: The first book featuring Meg is A Wrinkle in Time . I'm sure the rest is obvious.

[livejournal.com profile] chaotic_miles is also self-explanatory. Miles causes chaos by being interested in stuff in canon. Too bad he is so boring at H_H.

[livejournal.com profile] curlybrain was suggested by HColleen. I love it, since Hermione has curly hair and is smart.

As we can see from all of this, I suck very much at creative usernames.

So, then, my lot...

[livejournal.com profile] edomedpeddler is a combination of the time period of most of the anime (the Edo period of Japanese history 1603-1868) and the fact that he is a medicine seller.

[livejournal.com profile] mello_n_choco Mello's name, it could either be "N" or a shortened version of and, then chocolate (ran out of characters)

[livejournal.com profile] elegantsamurai is, well, descriptive of how Yukimura's portrayed in Samurai Deeper Kyo. He's interested in his appearance and presents himself very well.

[livejournal.com profile] pre_l came about since I adopted L and he was taken pre-canon...though he is know by L at that point...pretend there's a 'canon' in there...

[livejournal.com profile] noseymaddie is a combination of my inability to spell properly without the wavy red line and Maddie's name. She is rather nosy, but it suits her occupation.

[livejournal.com profile] kingbandit is Jing's title. I wanted banditking, but that was taken...he is the King of Bandit(s), after all.

[livejournal.com profile] sir_knits_a_lot is referential to Gwendal's hobby, not that he's particularly great at it, just that he does it a lot.

[livejournal.com profile] spinmybuzzer - is something Homestar says, and the Chapman brothers have explained (through puppet Homestar, I believe, but dang if I can find that short again) that it's his way of mouthing off.

[livejournal.com profile] everythinguever - is Dr. Horrible's "victory" song and the very last song in the musical if you don't count the ending credits. I actually wanted it to be everythingyouever, but that was two letters too long.

Dumbledore's username is proof I am a terrible person.

See, when I took on the character, he had a History. I chose not to keep that History, of course; but there would be characters who remembered the previous HH!Dumbledore and his wacky hijinks. Hijinks like being married to HH!Voldemort and having lots of sex with him ... having a threesome with Voldemort and the HH!Snape we had back in those days ... These things had long been amusing to the muns who remembered those characters, myself among them.

So ... the username I made for Dumbledore when I adopted the character is a joke. Please know I have never intended to make Dumbledore live out the promise of this username!

If the joke isn't apparent to you already, it's a combination of Ddore's canonical love of sherbet lemons / lemondrops (I know, not totally synonymous candies; it depends whether you're reading the US or UK edition of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets), and ... well, I'll let Urban Dictionary explain 'lemonparty' (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=lemonparty).
