I'm waiting for a print job to finish, so here I am dinking around. Where did you get the idea for your characters' user names? Are they witty, or just the first thing you could think of?

dinosaurman comes from JP3, where Ellie's kid keeps calling Grant the Dinosaur Man. Eventually, Grant calls himself that so that the kid will recognize him over the phone.
damien_thorn I figured that not many people would be familiar with Damien.
bone_not_rock I screwed this one up. In the movie, Billy says that the fossil is technically rock, not bone. If pressed, I'll claim that it's actually a sneaky reference to human frailty.
fields_4ever Strawberry Fields Forever. Creative, I know.
3rd_retirement I'm not sure if this one is accurate, because death might have been Mathis' second retirement, not third.
blond_bondshell I actually apped James Bond just for that username. Just to make it clear which Bond it is.
ah_aha Tenel Ka says this about once or twice per conversation, and it looks better than "thisisafact"
hot_german Dieter is hot and German. What more do you need?
tako_time is a play on words of an Oregon-grown Mexican fast-food chain, Taco Time.
invisiblemadman is the only thing I could think of after finding out that any variation of "nowyoudont" was taken.

ringo_raver Ringo is the Japanese word for apple. In the second Death Note opening, it's....rather trippy and metal. Anyway, at one point, you see Ryuk dancing in front of bright lights holding his apple. It looked like a rave. Hence, apple raver. I just used the Japanese word for alliteration.

righteous_pen: Fairly self-explanatory. Mikami is apparently very fond of his pen. And all the wittier things I could come up with seemed to have been taken already.

jezzthespoon: I was reading the D&D sourcebook that had his profile and statistics, and one thing that struck me about his gear list was the inclusion of a Murlynd's Spoon - a magical item which provides nutritious gruel for four on a daily basis. Not at all flashy, but very practical, which fit in with the occasions he plays the (disregarded) voice of reason. Also a play on "Mack the Knife."

Since two of the characters I play are ones I've adopted the journals for, I can't entirely answer this. Except... well, maid_brienne is obvious. Her name is Brienne. She's called the Maid of Tarth. But why Nny, the original Luna-mun, called the journal whosneverbeen, I have absolutely no idea.

As for the rest:

beets_r_god was suggested by Siri. Funnily, when I created the journal, my fingers typed the abbreviated "r" instead of "are", even though it still would have worked. My Dwight muse would like to point out that this laziness on my part should be punished, because no way would he use Netspeak in any form. Anyway, Dwight's a beet farmer in canon and is always professing the beneficial effects of eatig beets.

nerdsexgoddess is also self-explanatory. Amaranth is a nerd. She's an avatar of a goddess. And she likes sex. Plus, I like the name.

rarebookangel: Well, Aziraphale in canon owned a bookshop. And he's an angel.

hopalongmcgurk: This is actually an alias Oly used after her life in the carnival for her radio work.

wrinklesintime: The first book featuring Meg is A Wrinkle in Time . I'm sure the rest is obvious.

chaotic_miles is also self-explanatory. Miles causes chaos by being interested in stuff in canon. Too bad he is so boring at H_H.

curlybrain was suggested by HColleen. I love it, since Hermione has curly hair and is smart.

As we can see from all of this, I suck very much at creative usernames.

edomedpeddler is a combination of the time period of most of the anime (the Edo period of Japanese history 1603-1868) and the fact that he is a medicine seller.

mello_n_choco Mello's name, it could either be "N" or a shortened version of and, then chocolate (ran out of characters)

elegantsamurai is, well, descriptive of how Yukimura's portrayed in Samurai Deeper Kyo. He's interested in his appearance and presents himself very well.

pre_l came about since I adopted L and he was taken pre-canon...though he is know by L at that point...pretend there's a 'canon' in there...

noseymaddie is a combination of my inability to spell properly without the wavy red line and Maddie's name. She is rather nosy, but it suits her occupation.

kingbandit is Jing's title. I wanted banditking, but that was taken...he is the King of Bandit(s), after all.

sir_knits_a_lot is referential to Gwendal's hobby, not that he's particularly great at it, just that he does it a lot.

spinmybuzzer - is something Homestar says, and the Chapman brothers have explained (through puppet Homestar, I believe, but dang if I can find that short again) that it's his way of mouthing off.

everythinguever - is Dr. Horrible's "victory" song and the very last song in the musical if you don't count the ending credits. I actually wanted it to be everythingyouever, but that was two letters too long.

Dumbledore's username is proof I am a terrible person.

See, when I took on the character, he had a History. I chose not to keep that History, of course; but there would be characters who remembered the previous HH!Dumbledore and his wacky hijinks. Hijinks like being married to HH!Voldemort and having lots of sex with him ... having a threesome with Voldemort and the HH!Snape we had back in those days ... These things had long been amusing to the muns who remembered those characters, myself among them.

So ... the username I made for Dumbledore when I adopted the character is a joke. Please know I have never intended to make Dumbledore live out the promise of this username!

If the joke isn't apparent to you already, it's a combination of Ddore's canonical love of sherbet lemons / lemondrops (I know, not totally synonymous candies; it depends whether you're reading the US or UK edition of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets), and ... well, I'll let Urban Dictionary explain 'lemonparty' (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=lemonparty).
