Now that we got the obligatory Death Note meme out of the way, let's join our character, shall we?

He was accurate when he told Karasu that the Room of Requirement changes for the student's needs. Truth be told, he didn't NEED a swimming pool, he could easily find some other sort of exercise, or swim in the lake. However, it's winter, and the Chairman had no desire to tangle with the giant squid.

And Kaga DID enjoy swimming, been doing it since his teens. So every morning whenever possible (read: whenever someone else wasn't using it) he would exercise in the pool.

Come join him, splash about, burn some energy.

Or, you know, leer at him.

Um, so...

Yukimura came to the Room of Requirement for a dojo but found an occupied pool instead. He watched a moment, enjoying the form of Kaga's body as it moved through the water. He relaxed against one of the walls, just watching, a slight smile on his face.

Finished with those set of laps, Kaga rested at the side of the pool for a few minutes to catch his breath. He looked around to spot Yukimura looking at him.

"Ah, hello, Yukimura-san."

"Hello, Kaga-san. You seem well today," Yukimura replied politely. "That does look quite refreshing and challenging," he said, moving closer. "Though, it is an interesting hobby. He squatted so he could trail his fingers in the water near Kaga.

"I've been doing this since I was in high school. One of the few forms of exercise I actually enjoy." He floated a bit. "Would you care to join me?"

Yukimura laughed. "I can't say it's something I know how to do. The only time I've really been in a lot of water, it had a very strong current and pushed us up onto shore across the bay."

Kaga blinked momentarily in shock. "Well, perhaps I could teach you?"

Yukimura raised an eyebrow. "It would be fun to try, wouldn't it?" he laughed.

He smiled. "I'll be waiting here whenever you're ready."

Yukimura smiled. "Then, I'll return shortly," he replied, going into the room off to the side and returning dressed in a fundoshi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fundoshi). He sat on the edge of the pool. "So, then, how shall we start?"

"Well, first, lets practice treading water." He held out his hands. "I'll hold on so you don't drown."

the mun is totally regretting this, she doesn't know the first thing about swimming!

Yukimura raised an eyebrow and slid into the water, holding onto the edge of the pool. "It would be quite dreadful if we drowned," he said. "Are you sure I won't pull you down?" Regardless of his own warnings, he reached for Kaga's hand.

"No." He took Yukimura's hand and led him from the edge, but only slightly. If they DID start drowning, he would need to pull Yukimura back quickly.

He held Yukimura's other hand and began treading water, indicating that Yukimura should copy him.

Yukimura held onto Kaga's hand and worked on copying his leg movements. He sank a little but kicked faster and found that if he used longer kicks than Kaga did, he could keep himself balanced. He angled slightly, trying to avoid kicking Kaga and the wall and succeeded in losing boyancy again. He reached for the wall again. "You make this look easy," he complained on a laugh.

Kaga laughed as well. "I've had years of practice." He let his lower body float a little bit away so Yukimura wouldn't kick him.

Yukimura moved away from the wall again, holding on with the tips of his fingers, working on keeping himself upright by just treading water. "Yes, it shows," he said appreciatively. "Then, I suppose, it shows when I practice with the sword or bow, as well, ne?" He managed to let go of the wall and found that if he used his arms, he could keep his boyancy easier.

"It does indeed. I certainly can't use them as well as you can." He edged closer. "Do you think you're ready to try the dog paddle?"

"Perhaps if you show me. I wasn't around a lot of dogs and haven't really seen them swim," Yukimura said, laughing.

Kaga laughed a little bit in embarassment. "All right." He proceeded to doggy paddle the width of the pool.

Yukimura watched carefully, a frown of concentration on his face. That he hadn't sunk like a dead weight encouraged him somewhat, so he attempted to follow, only to swallow a mouth full of water and start choking on it.

Calmly, Kaga held him, keeping his head above water, and led him to the side so he could spit/cough up the water.

Yukimura held onto the wall and Kaga. "The water is vile," he said when he could speak again. "Worse than the sea," he added, letting go of Kaga so he could wipe his mouth with the back of his hand.

"I know," he said, stroking Yukimura's side to comfort him. "That's just something everyone has to deal with when they go into a pool."

Yukimura rested his cheek on his arms on the side of the pool and smiled at Kaga. "Ah, then, I suppose I should try again?" he asked.

Kaga nodded. "Try to keep your head up. If you don't think you can do it, then hold your breath instead."

"And my mouth closed," Yukimura added on a laugh before he pushed away from the wall. He managed to make it across the pool without drinking anymore of the pool water. He held onto the side and considered. "That does't seem nearly as graceful as what you were doing."
