Reflections in the snow ((Closed RP, Kusuriyuri, Kurama))

While still not fully used to the cold of winter, Kusuriyuri couldn't deny the beauty of the grounds covered in a fall of snow. He stood in one of the greenhouses, looking out toward the Forbidden Forest, feeling the elements, how they were softer than they had been in the spring. He could feel their growth, though, the returning of light to the darkness of the year. Boukensha purred contentedly in his collar, looking out as well. He could feel Kurama near at hand and knew the kitsune would join him shortly.

Belophoebe reached Kusuriyuri first, rubbing against his leg affectionately, meowing up at both him and Boukensha. Kurama was a pace behind, coming to stand next to Kusiriyuri.

"What do you see?" He asked, bringing up a hand to pet the top of boukensha's head.

Kusuriyuri sighed. "It is like an ukyo-e painting," he said, his eyes remaining on the scene. "Almost as if it is another world, brought here to be seen."

Kurama watched him carefully a moment. Was that sigh one of sadness? Or of contentment? Sometimes, Kusuriyuri's ability to mask his thoughts was disconcerting, but Kurama wasn't given to argue.

"It is a great beauty to behold," a soft chuckle, "though in moderation."

Kusuriyuri looked over at Kurama. "Shirogitsune does not think that this one would prefer the scenery outside to him, does he?" he asked solemnly.

"Shirogitsune thinks that the cold atmosphere is just fine to behold, as long as one does not have to spend too much time outside," he grinned back.

Kusuriyuri smiled slightly. "The forest, however, is lovely. Almost enough to make this one wish to draw it to see again without the cold."

"Would you like me to bring you your supplies to do so?" He had never had a chance to actually observe Kusuriyuri as he drew, and was a firm supporter of the beautiful things that came of it. "Unless you prefer not to be observed when you draw."

Kusuriyuri was a little surprised at Kurama' s answer. "If Shirogitsune wishes, he will draw. The supplies are in my case, ink and paper. I will also need water."

"I will bring them, then," he smiled, placing a kiss on Kusuriyuri's cheek before disappearing back into their rooms. He returned moments later, balancing the paper, ink, and brushes in one hand and a container of water in the other, setting everything out carefully on one of the worktables.

Kusuriyuri smiled a little at Kurama and then removed Boukensha from his collar. "For now, little prince, you will have to be on the floor," he said, placing the kitten near Belophoebe. The kitten whined and was soon silenced by Belophoebe's insistance on cleaning him.

Kusuriyuri arranged the paper and ink slightly before picking up the brush, holding it near the end and watching the scene a little longer before taking the first stroke. Each stroke was deliberately taken, though some may have appeared more random than others.

Kurama stood off to the side and watched, fascinated, as the scene began to take shape He had stolen countless paintings and bits of fine art during his life, but he'd never had the opportunity to watch it being made.

When Belophoebe finished her grooming, Boukensha had evidently decided that, if Kusuriyuri was busy, someone had to carry him about, and so sat at Kurama's feet, demanding to be picked up. Kurama obliged, setting the kitten on his own shoulder.

Kusuriyuri continued woking, the scene long since in his mind, until it was too dark to see out the window. A few more lines and he set the brush down, examining the picture, comparing it to the scene from his memory. "It is most difficult to capture nature," he said.

"Ever changing, ever growing, and yet you capture it well," Kurama murmured, looking over Kusuriyuri's shoulder. He was rightly impressed; it was a beautiful painting.

Kusuriyuri lowered his head slightly. "Shirogitsune is kind to say so." Boukensha used the closesness to return to his favorite perch, tasking Kusuriyuri for not allowing him there earlier as he did. "The little prince does not approve of art," he said, amused.

"I don't think he approves much of anything," Kurama chuckled, tapping the kittens nose much in the way Kusuriyuri did to him. Boukensha chirped and then settled in his spot, making little kitten grumbles.

"It is beautiful, at least to my reckoning." He grinned teasingly. "I do have a little knowledge of lovely art, even if I can't create it."

Kusuriyuri leaned into Kurama slightly. "The little prince only approves of his resting place," he said. "And, this one only uses such drawing as practice."

"Practice?" He knew very well that Kusuriyuri meant for creating his charms, but he couldn't help teasing a little more. "Do not tell me that those very interesting shunga illustrations were yours?"

Kusuriyuri looked up and gave Kurama a rather odd look. "This one has not drawn such, but if Shirogitsune is wishing to model for him," he said, letting the offer trail off, his tone completely solemn.

Now it was Kurama's turn to be surprised, and he felt a blush creep up the back of his neck.
"This one will model, if Moujuutsukai-san wishes it," he murmured. Certainly, he'd been given offers like that before, but from scuzzy fellows in cheap suits and kids from student council. He'd never thought of agreeing until just now.

Kusuriyuri reached up to touch Kurama's cheek. "It is not often this color graces Shirogitsune's face," he murmured. "Do you wish it?" he asked, seriously, truly wanting to know how Kurama felt about it.

A Smile. "I wish it, if you wish it. I'm just... surprised is all. Such has been offered before, though by no one I would wish to accept from."

Kusuriyuri returned the smile. "This one is honoured," he murmured. His tone became solemn as he added, "Though, this one is very curious to see if Shirogitsune could remain still long enough for a picture to be created."

"That will be a challenge," Kurama grinned," but I think I can manage."

Kusuriyuri raised an eyebrow. "We shall see," he murmured. He gathered up his brushes and the unused paper, storing them in his sleeves. "If Shirogitsune will prepare himself, I will be in our room shortly," he said, picking up the ink and water. There was the matter of getting clean water and shutting both the cats out of the room since it was unlikely they'd stay out of the way without something obviously going on between them, though Belophoebe may be sensitive enough to know what was going on.

Kurama watched Kusuriyuri go, for a moment seized with a tiny feeling of premonition, but shook it off, taking himself to their room. Belophoebe had made herself scarce; he'd just managed to catch a glimpse of her tail disappearing out into the hallway, so no worries there.

He fretted a moment, clearing the table and turning about the room, unsure exactly of what to do. Modeling was not exactly in the area of his expertise, and what little modeling he did know was someone else posing for him before more desirable activities were pursued. He quibbled another moment, and then told himself to stop being such a ninny, and began to strip.
