Fondue, please do...((Open RP, Great Hall))

The house elves continued to insist that Yukimura think of something to do with the Sorting Hat's gift of cheese. Well, it was more they insist he ate it, but that was completely undesirable.

The logical thing to do then was to see that the cheese was eaten. Remembering A's suggestion, he asked the house elves to make fondue of all the cheese and to set it up in the Great Hall, if they would, for the pleasure of all who wandered by. The Hat, he insisted with a laugh, would be over joyed that it's gift brought pleasure to so many.

Secretly, he was sure the Hat was a sadist.

Today, he is dressed normally, in his normal clothing and in a relatively good mood.

'Please, do enjoy the fondue' a sign by the door reads.

Mel, it has to be said, is suspcious. Magic food has turned her into a Mary-sue, a human (who promptly got hit with about seventy diseases), and neither her soulmate nor her boyfriend are here if she turns into, say, a tiny little kitten. Undoubtedly a cute one, but she might end up being lugged around by an enemy.

So, she pokes around, and then asks 'This won't turn you into anything, will it?'

Yukimura laughs. "Unless the Sorting Hat or the house elves did something to the cheese, I don't believe it will." He walks over. "Please, come in," he says, his hand extended, his voice cheerful.

She takes the hand, and shakes it, smiling. 'It's nice to meet you. Kind of you, too.' Yeah, she trusts him. He doesn't seem to be lying. Angels are pretty good about knowing when someone's lying.

'I'm Mel,' she tells him, letting go and entering the room.

"Sanada Yukimura," he replies, still giving his name in the traditional manner of family name before personal name. "Please, call me Yukimura, though," he adds with a laugh. "Have you been here long?"

"Is this going to turn people into anything?"

L watches for a moment, to be sure.

"Ah, Ryuuzaki," Yukimura purrs, remembering the other from his sorting. "It is from the Sorting Hat, and the house elves prepared it. I do not know, sadly."

"You do coo. I'd forgotten that. Matt was right."

L hovers back, not quite willing to take the risk yet.

Light, as a man again and back in his normal clothes with the viking costume now burnt into nothingness, enters the Great Hall. Of course he is wary of the fondue, being a community meal as the enchanted soup Mikami ate was, but there is no reason to avoid the Great Hall altogether. Though he still passes the fondue in favor of a bag of regular potato chips (of which does not sparkle when eaten) for a snack.

"Hello," Yukimura says with a smile. "You are not fond of cheese as well? The Sorting Hat has a sense of humor."

"Hello," he returns the greeting. "It is not that I dislike cheese, but that I prefer potato chips as a snack more. I don't know if I've met the Hat, but with such a sense of humor I do not think I would want to."

The Chairman was almost done with his planning. He just needed to arrange a few more things (and the mun needs a day off) and the battle could commence.

This calls for a celebration.

And what's that he smells? Cheese?

Someone who dressed almost as well as he did. Yukimura smiled "Hello," he said, "and welcome. I haven't seem such fine clothing since I've been here!" he gushes.

"Ah, yes, well." Kaga had some weird tastes. "Kaga Takeshi," he introduced himself, bowing.

Soichiro held back a laugh. So Yukimura-san did decide to go with the fondue party, good for him. He moved over to the side to partake a bit.

"Welcome, Yagami-san! I am pleased you could come. Have you been well?" He smiles, the laughter only showing in his eyes.

"I have." Amazing what badmouthing the Sorting Hat can do for your health. "And you, Yukimura-san?"

Pegasus isn't certain what this “fondue” is the sign mentions, but the smell is enticing enough to draw him into the Great Hall to find out. He is, after all, largely ruled by his stomach these days (“these days” encompassing the last several centuries or so); the general decline in foolhardy heroes seeking his assistance in slaying all manner of foul beasts likely has something to do with it.

Approaching the table, he bypasses the cheese and instead helps himself to the bread and various vegetables sitting out. It's just a shame there aren't any apples.

Horses are the mounts of nobility in Yukimura's era. A horse with wings, however, is unheard of. Wondering if the horse is lost and needs to be guided back to the stables, which he has not found on his limited explorations, or perhaps something more, Yukimura approaches making sure he is within the creature's eyesight. He has no wish to try and calm a spooked animal if he can avoid it. "Hello," he says, offering his hand, palm up and flat, to see if the creature will respond in the normal manner of horses.

Although he presently lacks the ability to speak in the tongues of men, Pegasus understands them perfectly well. And since he has a flair for the dramatic, he turns to fully face the man, unfurling his wings until they nearly sweep the floor as he goes down on one knee, his other foreleg stretched out in front of him as he returns the greeting with a graceful bow. Only afterward does he lean forward to smell the proffered hand, hoping for a treat.

Mikami is on his way back from the sorting room earlier than he'd expected (he decided he should keep an eye on new arrivals, in case Stephen Loud or somebody turns up), which means he has time free to investigate the fondue party. Not that he's planning to eat any of it. The last thing he needs is another laser battle.

He notices Yukimura and bows (while secretly hoping he can get away without being asked to go drinking again). "Yukimura-san. Did your Sorting go well?"

Yukimura returns the bow and smiles. "Mikami-san, this," he waves to the fondue, "is the result of my sorting. The Hat felt it was a failing that I did not know of cheese. My whole room was filled with the stuff! My kimono still smell of it!"

...it's a lot of fondue. Mikami is very glad that he answered that question. "That's about what I'd expect of the Hat. That thing is deranged."

The smell of cheese hit him first, and Kurama knew (or could make an accurate guess) that where there was an abundance of cheese, there would be Yukimura.

He was not disappointed, and grinned easily and he strode into the great hall.
"Quite a spread, Yukimura-san. I'm glad you've finally found a use for your abundant gift."

He makes a face. "It would have been nice had it gone away on its own," he sighs. "Are you well? I don't suppose you'd like any," he adds with a laugh.

He took a chunk of bread and dipped it into one of the pot, popping the morsel into his mouth.

"I'm well, I was hoping to ask for your opinion on something."
