Having agreed to talk to Miss Tam further about Occlumency, Lupin tidies up some of the papers in his office and hopes that there aren't any psychic vibrations or subliminal messages which will turn her into a raving maniac. She's a very nice girl, he thinks, but it's a bit intimidating to know that she could not only "kill him with her mind" but kick his teeth in with no more effort than swatting a fly. He alters the warding spells on his office to allow her in, sits down at his desk and assumes a look of kindly authority, and waits for her to arrive.

His strength is more in Legilimency than Occlumency, but he is very good at both. Try sending him an owl and see what he says. Oh, by the way - would you like some tea?" He's just gotten a fresh supply from Hogsmeade.no subject

She offered to help me with another... political... problem." Another pause, then: "Sometimes all you have to do is let people know there's a problem and it solves itself. Maybe not totally, but... enough."
She looks at the tea. "English Breakfast, I think." She looks up at Lupin. "Do you have any 'Constant Comment'? My father used to get that for me, back home on Osiris--- he said it was appropriate." Her expression invites him to share the joke.

Date: 2006-02-18 11:02 pm (UTC)"Well, Miss Skeeter is certainly the one to turn to if you want to expose a scandal. It's her speciality, after all." He smiles. "You must have been a very bright and clever child. You still are, you know."

I think I've managed to get more out of it than they ever meant to give me--- thanks to my brother and the captain and the rest of Serenity's crew, mostly." She smiles slightly. "The Alliance got what they wanted with me--- except that it got them, too."
