Unpopping of Provenza: Open RP

"Goddamnit, Flynn!" Provenza yelled as he hit the floor, soggy and sticky. He wasn't sure what he was yelling at Flynn for. Well, yelling at Flynn usually solved something, but in this case, Provenza was pretty sure the other detective hadn't been involved.

Hiding a dead body to go to a baseball game? Flynn.

Dropping a casket and finding two dead bodies in it? Flynn.

A cross-country RV trip with a convict and the boss? Flynn.

Stone walls and butter? Not Flynn.

The air around the old man was turning distinctly blue as Provenza started swearing as he wandered off toward whatever hell the house he was in to go and take a shower.

"Well now, what the hell do you think, genius?" Provenza asked. "I don't see anyone skipping for joy."

"Must be a human thing. I was more bothered by being hexed upside down than by the butter."

"Whoop-de-do for you. So are you going to keep talking, or are you going to get out of my way?" Provenza marched off down the hall, then paused. "And which way is the Gryffen-puffen... Graffledor? Gryffin... The 'G' house. Where is it?"

"Grumpy, grumpy. I don't know where any of those are. I know where Ravenclaw is, though."

Not helpful. Certainly not getting out of his way, either.

Provenza was quick to point this out. "Fat lot of good you are. Don't you have somebody else to bug?"

"Nah. House elves are all scared of me. Well, as long as they bring apples, they can be scared."

"Then go bug one of the people, stupid," he replied. "But not me."

"Are you alright?" asks L, with some concern. People don't usually swear like that unless there's some sort of crisis.

"Do I look like I'm alright?" he asked, still dripping butter. For a crabby old man, this was a crisis!

"Yes," concludes L eventually, after examining him, "if a trifle inconvenienced. I know a spell that might help with that."

Provenza's muttering sounded an awful lot like and he didn't care a lick if said kid could hear him.

"You keep your damn hocus-pocus to yourself. I want a shower."

"That shouldn't be hard to find either." He follows after him, because it's kind of amusing.

"So are you just going to follow me, or are you gonna give me directions?" he demanded. "I'm looking for the G-house."

"Gryffindor? You're heading the wrong direction, then. You should have asked sooner."

L about-turns.

He was so crabby that he was prepared to keep walking in that direction until he ran out of hallway, but logic won over, and he turned around.

"So where is it?"

"Back ths way, to the lefts, up stairs, left again down the hall..." and further.

"Right. Down the hall and left.". He'd figure the rest out when he got there.
