So, Matt and L...ouch, the thought alone hurts. But, Matt seems happy with L...or maybe I'm reading way too much into what I saw in the bar. Between finding out Near is indeed ticklish and practicing, though, I haven't had a chance to really find him and ask him. And, asking in the bar would have been...well, even I'm not that direct.

And, since I still want to be able to talk to him, I'm not sending him an owl.

So, I've been tracking him down. I start at the library, then the Great Hall, then his room. Why I didn't try here first, I don't know. It would have saved me time. I don't hear sounds of gaming as I knock, but there are some sounds behind the door.

I glance over at the lego buildings. "Yeah. They help him think. Can't bitch, he gets me good chocolate and it's on his side of the room." For all I try to sound bitchy about it, I don't think that comes out in my voice.

I turn back to Matt. "Make it seem like one of the dippy newbs came up with it? Or those otaku girls?" Here, the bitterness fills my voice.

Matt ducks his head slightly at the fondness in Mello's tone.

He can deal.

"Eh. Best not to be too specific, probably... otaku girls? You mean Konata?" He blinks. He can't imagine anything she could have done to inspire that sort of bitterness. "... did she beat you at Soul Calibur?"

"No," I twist the word out. "She took...pictures," the word comes out as if it is acid.

"Pictures?" Matt starts, confused. And then he remembers the conversation at the bar.

"Konata did that?"

I glare at him. "Yes." How dare he doubt me? "Her and her friend. I tried to get them back." I slump into the bed. "Mr. Wednesday is of the opinion that if I just ignore them, then odds are things will stay low key. But, ignoring them doesn't rule out revenge." I grin. "It would be fun, giving Near and L something to do and getting back at those girls, wouldn't it?"

"And you got the pictures back, right?" Matt snickers a little. "We could make out that there's this threat of naked pictures of everyone. I dunno>"

I raise an eyebrow. "L had copies. We did find them under the carpet. I'm not sure what he did with them, though." I frown a little. "What would you have done? If you found out there were pictures of your first time with...someone?" I didn't say L, that's a start of not pushing him, right?

Matt takes this to mean 'your first time ever' - which of course was the case, for Near. His expression gets a little more serious.

"... I'd steal and crash their car. But, uh, I guess that's not an option for Near, huh?"

My lips twist a little. "Not exactly a feasible plan, no. But, as much as that is tempting, or something like it." I vaguely remember Matt crashing someone's car, though I don't remember why. "But, if we can make them uncomfortable and entertain ourselves, that would be ideal."

"At least it wasn't you taking the pictures, I guess. But yeah. Sounds like a plan."

I flop back on my bed, letting my feet dangle while I stare at the ceiling. "Something those otaku girls would do that would get Near and L involved, and potentially us, that couldn't be immediately traced to us. A map." I stare, letting my brain work.

The most difficult part of it, though, is thinking like an otaku.

Matt shrugs. Mello's always been better at this shit than he is, so he pulls out a pack of cigarettes and lights up.

"Well, they like taking pictures. What if we spread rumors that there are naked pictures of you and L and a lot of other guys that they took hiding around the castle? And, it wouldn't be too hard to actually get some. I mean, hell, the showers are communal."

"... are you asking me to plant surveillance stuff in the showers?" Matt asks, amused. "And I dunno about you, but I've got an en-suite."

I sit up. "En suite? You think if we had an en suite you would have run into us in the hall? Bastard!" I grab a pillow and throw it at him.

Matt dodges the pillow (well, it hits his shoulder rather than his head, at least). He'd forgotten about running into Mello and Near.

"Should've put more thought into your room choice," he says, summoning a smirk.

"Near liked the window seat," I grumble.

"So, yeah, a little surveillance in the showers, but make it look like some otaku did it, y'know, amateurish. I know it'll be painful for a pro like you, but it'll hide us for a bit."

"... you want me to put cameras in the showers?"

"And make it look amateurish, yes. And, then circulate pictures 'accidentally' through the school." I nod. "Start in that otaku girl's dorm. That'd be the most logical place. And then ours." Not that I'm really in Ravenclaw, but I live here.

I glare at him. "Near and L won't investigate rumors of pictures. And, I never said give them to her. I said make it look like she'd taken them."

"You said put them into her dorm," Matt points out.

"I said dorm not room, Matt." I sigh. "Dude, this is your game, you know how to do it. Start using that brain that made you third and don't be such a slacker whore."

"I'm good at being a slacker." He ignores the 'whore' part. "But - fine. Just think about how tricky it's going to be to sneak cameras into a shower. While naked. Okay?"

I blink, trying not to laugh. "I'm sure you'll think of something. There are towels. And, if you're walking down the hall to the showers naked, then there would be no need for cameras, would there?"
