With the knowledge that L is willing to pay for any computer equipment he might need (which is a relief - he hadn't been looking forward to attempting to get his hands on someone's credit card while shopping with the world's greatest detective), Matt had gone to Hogsmeade and used the last of his money to purchase a wand.
Now he needs to find out what to do with it.
So, he's heading for the library. What he understands of wizarding culture suggests there isn't going to be much on cybermagic, but Matt isn't against figuring out things on his own.

Date: 2008-03-21 10:14 pm (UTC)The kitten is a little alarmed, but apparently glad to be back in the warmth, and moving around plenty inside the cardboard.
(L is talking to Matt, not the cat, this time.)

Date: 2008-03-21 10:17 pm (UTC)But he's not killed the kitten, which is good!

Date: 2008-03-21 10:19 pm (UTC)He shakes his head, and picks up the computer again.
"I am not sure I like that kind of travel."

Date: 2008-03-21 10:31 pm (UTC)Matt's feeling better now that they're back, though - back with computers. Oh, thank god.

Date: 2008-03-21 10:32 pm (UTC)And that's saying something.

Date: 2008-03-21 10:46 pm (UTC)The kitten mews impatiently, and L picks up the other parcels so they can get her back to his room, to let her out.

Date: 2008-03-21 10:56 pm (UTC)He hasn't entirely written it off yet.

Date: 2008-03-21 10:59 pm (UTC)He hadn't really thought about flying until now, but the more he does, the more eager he is to try.
Once he's got his computers sorted.

Date: 2008-03-21 11:00 pm (UTC)L hasn't seen any available.

Date: 2008-03-21 11:07 pm (UTC)What the hell did he do before he discovered house elves? Matt can't really remember.

Date: 2008-03-21 11:10 pm (UTC)Weird creatures with big eyes.

Date: 2008-03-21 11:13 pm (UTC)Which reminds him... "We should have picked up a McDonald's while we were out."

Date: 2008-03-21 11:20 pm (UTC)"You consider their food edible? MacDonalds, I mean, the house elves are fine. Have they drastically improved, over the years?"
no subject
Date: 2008-03-21 11:25 pm (UTC)"Nah, not really. I like it, though. Gotta love some junk food every now and then."
By 'now and then', Matt means 'whenever I can be bothered leaving the house'. The food he eats the rest of the time is no less junkified; he just orders it in or puts it in the microwave himself.

Date: 2008-03-21 11:25 pm (UTC)For L to not like something sweet is unheard of.

Date: 2008-03-21 11:28 pm (UTC)With Matt, it's the opposite way around - he doesn't like sweet things much, but he'll make an exception for McFlurries. Occasionally.

Date: 2008-03-21 11:30 pm (UTC)They might be alright. But privately, he doubts it.

Date: 2008-03-21 11:36 pm (UTC)It occurs to Matt, yet again, how weird it must be to interact with people from your own future.

Date: 2008-03-21 11:45 pm (UTC)He can't imagine what must be in something called a 'McFlurry.'
