::Open RP : Annoying Alliteration Abounds

Sorted.

Well, A had gathered a few things from his sorting. He had a place here, and there were things to be learned. B was here, and was not an atom less vicious.

And he was here. And approved.

Although really, A wasn't sure if that was another of his visions or not. It wasn't always clear. This place wasn't clear, not yet, but figuring it out was clearly the task at hand.

He crept through the halls, shaken somewhat by the unprecedented freedom. He was to find a place called Hufflepuff...

Here's L, moving smoothly in the other direction. He's coming from the library, bearing several books.

He stops when he sees A, and asks, with a nod,

"Are you settling in adequately?"

Actuality, then, or yet another vision. And A feels too calm to be having a vision, although the sight of L does alter that, sending his tightly wound nerves singing like a plucked harpstring.

"A has been told," he said breathlessly. "A has a place to be. But I still must find where it is." He smiled faintly, almost mischievously. "And perhaps Backup will not find my place to be."

"I have not encountered Backup, but I suspect that concealing anything from him will take effort. You will no doubt rise to the challenge. Where did the hat tell you that you were going?"

He didn't see the whole sorting.

"Hufflepuff, it... that hat, it said that." A laughed, a sneaky little giggle. "Small things have been hidden from B, yes, and this place is larger than our room ever was."

So. Bitchiwitch. What an unusual name for a house.

Nevertheless, Beyond went to stake his claim in that house when he spotted a familiar head of hair.

Make that two.

Can it be?

Beyond crept up and stuck his head in between the two.

"Hello, Attempted." He turned his head. It was! "And L Lawliet! So delighted to see you!"

Every instinct left in L's body (he has suppressed most of them, since cold fact is much more reliable) is screaming at him that this is a bad situation.

"It's Ryuuzaki here, if you please."

B had upset L.

Backup had upset L.

A drew back to glare at B, reaching into his pocket for the sweet small secret knife he hid there, his own private escape route.

"He's not for you, Backup. Not ever for the likes of you and your slimy slimy tongue. Aren't there places for you to crawl to on your belly?"

"To the victor go the spoils, I suppose. You defeat me, you get my alias." Then he turned on A with a grin.

"Aww, Attempted, afraid that he'll replace you? No, no, what am I saying, you are supposed to replace him. No matter. I can show you both the same attention."

"If you are only here to attempt to goad us then I suggest you leave," L tells B, curtly. "B, is it? For Backup. I don't think much of the naming system they chose to employ."

It lacks art, or any sort of imagination. He is also uncomfortable with the idea that this is what they think his replacement should be.

"Backup thinks he is better," A called out. "But Backup is botched." L is next to him, and his happy little knife is hidden in his hand, and that is enough to fill A with glee. "Banal and broken."

"Well, then, you should talk to your minion Wammy. Or what name is he going under? Botched, you said, Attempted? No, not while we were both still alive. Bare and bloodless, perhaps, but you changed that, my dear." He tapped A on the nose to accentuate the point.

"I think I will, the moment I return. The development you two represent is unsettling, as is the propensity towards alliteration."

Very juvenile.

"Do you have a name you would prefer, or shall I continue to call you B?"

A twitched, pulling back from the touch.

"Not so bloodless as all that," he crooned, thumbing the switch on the side of the Exacto knife in his pocket. "Not so bloodless as all that, B. I've watched your pulse, did you know? All those long long nights, I knew where your pulse was. A has teeth too, you know."

After flying around a bit on a stolen broom (but is it really stolen if he put it back?), Ofdensen came back inside the castle, a few ideas brewing in his head on how to further market Dethklok.

"You lost?" he asked the stranger in the hall.

An unexpected voice made A turn.

"Is that a philosophical question or a cartographic one? Not that I have found a map yet, no, no... I have been told, you see. Told that Hufflepuff is the place I must go. So locating it is my task."

"Cartographic, I suppose," he asked with an arched eyebrow. "I'm heading back to Hufflepuff, you could follow me."

It could, of course, be a lie, or a trick... but even lies and tricks can be learned from. "Follow, yes, that is kind of you, kind. Can you tell me what sort of place Hufflepuff is?"

"Probably the least interesting of all the houses. All of them have some recurring theme of some sort....and Hufflepuff gets all the rest. Or something like that, I just asked to be in there because my employers were there. They went back home, though."

"A is... uninteresting?" He giggled. "Uninteresting is... safe? Or discarded?"

Ofdensen stopped to think. "You're A, right?" He thought. "I guess...well, not normal, you remind me of Ed, actually. I guess safe is a good word to use. The discarded ones are the squibbed ones, I think."

"Yes yes, I am A. Squibbed... I don't think that is a word I've heard used here, yet. But if I am not discarded, that is good."

"It means you weren't accepted into the school. I've only seen it happen a few times, most everyone gets in. Now, what was the password?" Ofdensen leaned on the picture/door and fell in. "Oh, right, no one shuts the damn thing."

With a faint giggle, A stepped around him. "Doors that are open? Doors that are not locked with keycards thumbscans retinaprints and alphanumeric codes? Such doors exist, yes, but they are not the doors I know."

"Not here. The idea is to have doors with passwords, you tell the picture the password, and it'll open. But, everyone leaves the doors open. Which is all right, I suppose, the bars are in Ravenclaw and Slytherin, but so much for division. I do a better job securing my office."

"Bars... are there many? I was asked about a bar. I've never actually been to one of course, but I know what they are."
