((Backdated to just after this., although Grant will not be back to get the letter til after his trip, but it's OOC for Mia not to have sent him this. Whether or not Grant can see the colored text is up to the mun. Mia will not notice it.))
Dr. Grant,
My name is Mia Fey, and I have been recently Sorted into Ravenclaw. During my Sorting, an unattended velociraptor wandered in. I was unharmed, but I suspect that was largely due to the timely assistance of a house-elf distracting it with raw meat. No one has claimed responsibility for said creature so far, and I suspect it may still be wandering the school at large.
I don't have much information beyond that - I haven't seen it since my Sorting two weeks ago - but I was told you were the person to contact. If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Mia Fey

Date: 2008-03-03 05:05 am (UTC)It's the sound of a paleontologist hitting his head on the side of a bookcase after reading a letter.
After coming home from a short vacation, Grant had come back to find his best friend sitting in the popcorn room. After falling asleep on his girlfriend's couch, he'd woken up with a particularly painful crick in the neck, a sore back, and a headache. Determined to sleep of his aches and pains in an actual bed, he'd made it back to his room to find this letter on the table in his room.
Hence the head-bookcasing going on.
He wasn't sure what to do about the raptor. He'd been at the animal's sorting, and as far as he knew, it was technically a student, and not an animal under his care. He wrote Mai back, to let her know he got her letter.
Ms. Fey,
Stay away from the dinosaur. The animal is very dangerous, and if you see it again, don't hesitate to protect yourself and anyone else in the area. it appears that the animal was brought here by the same mechanism everyone else was. It's not a pet or a COMC animal, so I can't contain it, but I do have experience with velociraptors. Let me know right away if you see it again.

Oh, I have no intention of repeating the encounter if I can avoid it. I rather like having all my limbs intact again.
By "the same mechanism," do you mean that it's actually ? Lovely. I did meet two gentlemen with a pet pterodactyl, and hoped this was a similar case. Do they keep a roster of Sorted students here, by any chance?
In case it was placed in my House; at this rate I'm not discounting any possibilities. If I see it again, you'll be the first person I contact.
Thank you,
Mia Fey
