Desperate times called for desperate measures. Times were not yet quite desperate enough to warrant Camilla talking to Judy Poovey directly, however. So she decided to ask a new friend for a favor. Her animated stuffed mini-gryphon carried the following message to Willow:
Dear Willow,
You'd very kindly offered to talk to a friend for me about this whole forced-marriage situation. I decided it was better to tell him myself in the end, so I haven't asked you about it, but ... well, there is someone else I need to talk with, whom I actually can't really face directly. It's terribly presumptuous of me and I wouldn't ask unless it were very dire, but do you think you might be able to talk to her? Her name is Judy Poovey. She's living in this village as well, in a tent with a man named Sam Winchester, whom I've never met. Actually she's in the same tent cluster where I live.
The thing is, she's in love with Richard, the man to whom the Hat married me. I think that Judy and I share a common goal: she wants Richard to be with her, and I'd far rather Richard be with her as well. In college, though, she and I never got along, and the same at her Sorting. It's all very difficult. She's just the sort of person with whom I can't communicate at all. I think if I tried talking to her it would go terribly wrong. There's too much history there. Also, she's terribly ... well, when you meet her, you'll see.
I do hope all's going well in your own corner of the tent village. You ought to come over sometime. Henry's here now and that makes life much easier.
Best,
Camilla
