Ford looks at the letter with no small degree of surprise. This is unexpected, though not entirely unwelcome - adoration is never a bad thing, is it? He listens to the music - it's freakishly perky, but a good deal better than the Gunk Music that gets played on the sub-etha all the time.
Who was Ran though? Had he even spoken to this person before? Oh gods, had they been out before and he didn't remember? It was unlikely, but not impossible.
