Molly assumed this little invitation involved exchanging recipes and the like, so she came prepared, with a copy of her favorite collection of household spells and recipes for the modern witch in tow.

She seemed to be among the first to arrive, and so she greeted Jeeves with a smile. "Thank you so much for the invitation," she said. "This looks to be fun."

She would be absolutely correct; Jeeves himself had a small stack of journals and books in the corner to share. "Quite so, madam, do come in." He bows slightly and escorts her to a chair; he's set up several round tables, each with a small assortment of snacks in the middle.

"My times with the gentlemen of the Junior Ganymede were some of my most treasured."

Molly nibbled delicately at a small pastry. "I can imagine," she said lightly. "In any event, it's a wonderful idea for an organization."

"I can not claim the original idea, of course. We had the like where the young master and I originated. It was quite a successful organization, I should think."

From:

"Well, I should think it would be successful here, too," Molly said with a smile. "Although I've never run a large house. Then again, I cleaned up after seven children, so I suppose that counts for something."

From:

"Nine, madam, is most certainly a large house. I myself serve only one man," he points out. "It is hardly the amount of work one does. It's the quality, madam."

Molly nodded. "There is that," she admitted. Then, curiously, "How long have you been serving your employer?"

From:

"Oh, a goodly number of years now, madam." He sipped at his tea. "Short one brief period when I put in my notice."

For a few seconds after receiving the letter, Sansa was annoyed that anyone would think she was a servant. After that initial twinge passed, she had to admit that running a household might be called housekeeping. Most of a lady's life was often spent managing her husband's household, after all. On top of that, she'd honestly enjoyed Alayne's status after Lady Lysa's death; managing the servants, seeing to meals, pouring wine at meetings, even dealing with little Lord Robert.

So... perhaps this would be a good thing. A chance for her to meet people she could speak to about things she understood, things that had nothing whatever to do with her family (either of them) or her marriage.

She found her way to the room mentioned in the invitation, and walked into the room, smiling a little nervously at people already there. "Ah... hello. I got an invitation...?"

"Good day, miss. Do come in." Jeeves gestures her in with a polite little bow. "Welcome to Junior Ganymede. Would you care for a drink?"

She returned the bow with a little curtsey, almost subconsciously. It was easier to act as though everyone were highborn than strain her mind trying to decide who was smallfolk and who wasn't. "Thank you, ser." Wine was probably not a good idea - she didn't have much of a head for it. It was a good thing this place had alternatives. "Tea, maybe?"

"Certainly. Help yourself to the refreshments, and do feel free to socialize -- once everyone arrives I'll say a small piece, but otherwise I thought it best that the affair remain casual."

She nodded. "That's usually the best way, for... groups like this." What kind of group was it? Purely social, she thought; it hadn't occurred to her to look up what a club was before responding to the invitation. "Formal affairs are so time consuming sometimes. Seating alone can take hours."

What? It was true.

Jeeves nodded, in utter agreement. "Even among those who are all friends, the arrangements can be terribly complex." And woe betide he who makes arrangements for two warring families.

From:

"Does that ever really happen, though? There are always petty squabbles." Hence why first-come first-served seating was the order for the common tables on regular occasions. It was just easier. "Three generations back, someone stole someone else's largest pig right before the slaughter, someone else resents another person's riding ability, those two will always get in a fight when they're drunk, and on and on."

"Where I am from, miss, that is what counts as 'friends'."

From:

"...Well, yes. That's a good point." Sansa thought a moment, then said, "It's mostly just that where I'm from, the fights usually involve swords or axes or something."

"It may be more civilized than social poison and condescension," he points out, with a small smile.

if it's not too much bother, I would enjoy another meeting. You have a Victrola? I'd love to see it, I hear that they make music sound almost as good as it does live, and a little culture and history is always good for the soul. I would love to see you again, and I would enjoy learning more of your music tastes, Sir.

It is no bother at all, sir -- quite the opposite. I only hope I am not making excessive demands on your time.

The young master has a Victrola which he allows me to use quite freely. Music from it has a peculiar and unique sound that is altogether not displeasing. I am certain you will find something of it to your liking, sir.

Shall we meet this weekend, sir? The young master retires into Hufflepuff after dinner, and while I trust them for little else, the house elves can manage his after-dinner drinks quite neatly.
