The Great Hall has been decorated in Ravenclaw colors, as both bride and groom belong to Ravenclaw house. At every place at every table is a small gift bag, Ryuuji's idea for wedding favors: each one contains a little stuffed aardvark holding a pillow with the couple's names and the date embroidered on it in tiny precise stitches, a packet of flavored gelatin and a tiny flask of vodka for the making of Evil Clown Repellant, and a stick-on transfer tattoo of the Chinese ideogram for 'happiness'. There's a vast buffet table at one end of the hall, flanked by a huge punch bowl and a huger wedding cake (red velvet cake, of course). And, somewhere amid the other buffet offerings, there is a quite attractive array of fine chocolates. If you ask any of the wedding planners where they had procured the chocolates, they'll tell you to ask one of the other wedding planners. In reality, the chocolates have been provided by no one involved in the party planning at all. Tucked under the chocolates and hidden by the decorations is a hand-written note, in a plain envelope that looks rather like a small white napkin.

A small sign outside the Hall lets people know this is the Tam-Maturin wedding reception and it's open to the whole school. There was originally a plan to distribute fliers of some sort, or more exorbitantly to owl everyone at the school. Unfortunately, the drafted invitations got somehow mixed up with the invitations Ryuuji had designed for Stephen's bachelor party, and Stephen refused to countenance the sending of invitations bearing the likeness of Immodestly Hot Homsar. Word of mouth would have to be good enough. Besides, most people eat in the Great Hall anyhow.

(( As with previous magic-chocolates RPs, the effects of each chocolate are up to the mun of the character who eats it. Have fun! ))

Daniel blinked, swallowing a chocolate. "They?" he asked. "Which 'they'? I've known a lot of 'they's'." What did she mean? And where had she been, anyway? He shook his head...he was getting paranoid.

She looked at him, incredulously. "Have you not been paying attention? The plane crash? The island?" Her eyes darted away to scan the room rapidly, as she continued speaking. "This school is just a ruse..don't you know that? They want us to think we're in 'magic school', for...I don't know, psychological studies ore something."

Finally, her eyes returned to him, growing slightly wider. "Did they erase your memory? Holy crap, I didn't even know they could do that?"

Plane crash...island....

"Wait, okay, wait," he said. "I've had dreams about a crash, and an island, but...they're just dreams. I mean, I wake up." How the hell did she know what he'd been dreaming? This was...bizarre. "Have you...I mean, are you sharing my dreams?" Magic school--he wouldn't be surprised, really.

Abby nodded. "I thought it was just me...but I've seen, other people from here, there. I think." Wrinkling up her face, she tried to concentrate.

"We were...invading a building, with monitors, technology, and doors with keypads. But, nobody was there." Her face fell. "Nobody was there. It was a trap, and we walked right into it." Her voice got quieter. "They must have took your memory away because we got caught. I'm so sorry."

Wait, wait, how did she know that? It was a dream...wasn't it?

"How did you...? I mean, I've dreamed about the building, but I thought--they're just dreams, aren't they?" Sneaking through an empty building--with Abby, in the dreams--and feeling it was a trap...this was a bit creepy. More than a bit, really.

Maybe his memory wasn't gone entirely, after all. Abby stood up, barely missing knocking her head against the table, and sweeping Daniel up in a fierce hug.

"You do remember! I guess the brain erasure didn't go as well as they wanted. The question is..what do we do now? Should we try to bust out of here, find the others, or just act like nothing's wrong?"

Brain-erasure? Others? This was a little...too much.

"So, wait, how do you know all this?" he asked. "I mean, if they...brain-erased...everyone, how did you keep all these memories?"

"I don't know for sure you had your brain erased...just assumed that because you didn't remember anything that happened. What do you remember about the island? I remember that there were voting rooms in the building we invaded." She frowned, expression growing dark. "We had to vote on who stayed and who left. I'd have refused people if I knew they'd get sent home.."

Whoa, whoa, this was...a lot to assimilate. "Wasn't there something about a...man-eating watermelon?" he asked. He wasn't normally this paranoid--had he had too much to drink? He ate another chocolate, glancing around as if expecting the Men in Black to come drag him away.

Abby nodded. "The watermelon! I remember the watermelon, well not from personal experience, because I never saw it, I don't think...but just the concept." She wrinkled up her face. "It must have been a genetic test gone wrong.."
