J.A.I.L.B.A.I.T. Teaparty ::Semi-Screened for Female Chars Under 30::
Madam Rosmerta has cleared away most of the usual tables and booths. There are still a few small tables scattered around the large room, and a cheery fire is crackling in the fireplace. Along one wall are long tables loaded with tea sandwiches, scones, petit fours, candies, biscuits and other rich treats. On the opposite wall there is tea with all the accoutrements, a fountain type punchbowl, and coffee for those who prefer it to tea. Butterbeer is also available on request.
The tables hold bouquets of early spring flowers -- snowdrops, narcissus, and crocus in pink, yellow and white. There are soft yellow, pink, and white ribbons on the candle sconces, as well.
In a back room, the models from Gladrags are bustling around, changing into the various cloaks and robes they will be showing the attendees. They can't be seen, but it is possible to hear their indistinct chatter.
After checking the arrangements with Madam Rosemerta, Ginny stands near the door, nervously waiting for Emma to show up, and worried about whether the party will come off well, and very excited about her friends meeting each other. She's dressed in an aqua green Muggle dress with small yellow flowers, and wearing the new silver snitch necklace Harry gave her.
((While screened for female characters under the age of 30, the Three Broomsticks is a public facility, so it is possible for other characters to crash the party. It'll be a lot easier if they're disguised as a female under thirty, though. *wink*))

Me... I'm commonly known as Anne - with an e, mind you - Shirley, formerly of the small town of Avonlea, P.E.I. It's no wonder that you haven't met me, either. I've not been too very sociable of late, I fear.
no subject
I hope nothing unfortunate's happened that's kept you from socializing. But that's what this club is all about, giving all the girls in the school a chance to finally meet!
And finding them all boyfriends!no subject
I... don't want a boyfriend. I want RyuujiFred and George are simply troublemakers of the best sort. Gilbert's the same way, and although I'll never forgive him his prankishness, I do think your twin brothers are handsome enough that I shall have no other choice but to pardon them should they ask it, and maybe before.
I do so like Charlie, though... he seems so very much the archetype of what a man should be. I've schooled my intentions toward him, though *laughs happily* He's much too old for me.
That other brother of yours... Ronald, is it? Tell me of him. Is he handsome? Kind?
no subject
*smiles* The twins are fun, aren't they? Just be careful they don't make any of your things explode! Charlie's good to have around, in his own way. He's a wonderful big brother. I'm sure if you ever need anything or anyone's ever bothering you, he'll be happy to help. Ron?
Ron's awful git right now, but oh, maybe he'd like this girl and leave us alone!Ron's really nice and cute and a good athlete. And kind! Yes, Ron's very kind. He even got himself sorted into Slytherin, which he hates, just so he could protect me. Isn't that incredibly kind of him? You should meet him! Really soon! I think you'd like him a lot. And he'd like you, too.no subject
Perhaps... I think perhaps I would be alright with meeting him. I mean, as long as there are no other Slytherins around...
*she trails off, and seems to lose herself in thought*
no subject
I'm sure you'll like him! He really is a very nice boy! And he even has red hair, like mine. We'll make sure there aren't any other Slytherins around. We can meet down by the lake, maybe, or here at the Three Broomsticks, even. Oh, would you mind if Harry came along, too? He's technically a Slytherin, but he shouldn't be. He should be a Gryffindor, just like me and Ron.
no subject
Oh, yes! That would be lovely... I do so hope you and Harry are happy? I would very much like to meet him as well, to pass judgement. Which is to say, I'm sure I'll approve. From things I've heard
from the house-elves, he seems like a very kind and brave young man.no subject
Great! Well, I'll just chat with Ron and Harry next week and we'll arrange to get together with you. Harry and I are very happy! I'm glad you want to meet him. He's wonderful, really! *pass judgement? who is this girl to pass judgement on perfect, amazing Harry?!* Oh, he's very brave! He's defeated Voldemort several times. He's ... he's *blushing* oh, he's incredible!
And mine, dammit!I'm sure you'll like him, very much.*still worried about Anne's distraction, but mainly because she can't imagine anyone being distracted when they're hearing about the Great Harry Potter*
Say, are you all right? Is anything bothering you?
no subject
Bothering me? Oh no... not really. It's nothing at all. Just more silly ponderings and whatnot - the sort I've always been particularly apt to have. Tragic romances with all sorts of adventure and melodramatic deaths and people pouring poison into other people's ears... all that sort of nonsense.
*she sighs, still smiling* Oh, but I'm glad you and your beau are happy together. It sounds so dreadfully impossible sometimes, and I fear that I'll never have the chance to find such happiness for myself. Not without raven-black hair to my waist and a name like Beatrice or Cordelia. Or... or Ginevra! It's such a lovely name. I envy you so. I'd have a man in a moment if my name were Ginevra, and surely he'd be as perfect as your Harry sounds.
But I'm Anne, and I have no hope that my hair shall darken anytime soon, and the only way a man will look at me is if he is tricked into doing so, which is no way to fall in love.
Voldemort? Is he not the rather reptilian gentleman who teaches Defense Against the Dark Arts? Is he particularly good at Quidditch? I've heard that Harry is very good with the broom, so it is no wonder that he would defeat him. I had a cousin who played at Polo, and did very well at it. He wasn't actually a cousin, though, because I don't know any of my blood cousins. But he was a cousin of Marilla's, which suits just the same. He wasn't very handsome or heroic, though, and he drank rather a lot when he won. Marilla didn't abide him more than she was forced to by good manners, but I rather liked to hear him talk about teams he'd defeated and people he'd seen and places he'd been, even though I'm fairly certain he made a great deal of it up. Which was something else Marilla could never abide, and I really shouldn't have either, but they were such lovely stories. I do so like stories, although I've never been fishing so I really have no idea what a fish story is. Nor am I completely certain about smut. I know it's bad, and that I musn't ever read it, but Marilla has never gone so far as to explain what exactly smut IS. I would so like to know, as it will allow me to avoid it most carefully in the future - I almost panic to think that I may have read some without knowing, and that I have been rendered unmarriageable for thinking things improper for a woman to think.
*she takes a deep breath, then lets it out*
Do you like to read, Ginny?
no subject
*tries to gather herself and calm down a bit* Would you like some more tea? I'll just get us some. *brings back fresh cups of tea and a plate of biscuits and tea sandwiches* Oh, yes, we're very happy! I'm sure you'll find the perfect boy for you someday. You don't need an
awfulfancy name or anything. In fact, I think the best boys prefer normal names. I wouldn't go by Ginevra for anything! *smiles brightly at the mention of Harry being perfect* You're a lovely girl, Anne. Very pretty and sweet!Would you like to see what you'd look like with black hair, Anne? I can put a glamour on it that will make it black, temporarily. But I do think the red suits you better. It's such a lovely colour. Of course, I'm biased, but well, it really does look lovely on you. *wonders if Ron would like Anne with dark hair*
*tries to get a word in, edgewise* Voldemort! Play Quidditch? Err, um, Harry's never played Quidditch against Voldemort. It was more like destroying him, and in one case, completely killing that
horriblesixteen year old version of him, Tom Riddle.*tries to listen to Anne's whole story about her cousin and gets completely lost, but picks up on the word smut, wondering if she can get her hands on some*
Um, yes, I think I like to read, some. Mostly I play Quidditch and I like animals and knitting. Why, do you know of some good
smuttybooks?no subject
Nonsense. You musn't be involved with men who go about killing teachers! That's just irresponsible. I shall be sure to give him a thurough talking to upon meeting him. Such things must not be tolerated! Think of the poor teacher's pupils... what must they think when they hear news that a fellow student has killed thier teacher? Even if he were strict and cruel, the most hard-hearted student could not deny that the death of one's instructor is cruel and tragic.
Oh, don't worry about finding a boy for me, Ginny. It's a fool's errand, and I know that you are anything but a fool. It is my destiny to become an old maid, and I shall become one with great dignity. It does no good to fight against such a fate, and make a fool of yourself as well as a lonely old woman. It is far better to make friends while you can, so that when you grow old and bothersome, people are obligated to be kind to you and ease your final days as you decend toward a lonely, penniless, unfulfiled death.
*sighs tragically*
no subject
I'm already a Priestess and I think that's quite enough!*takes a deep breath* He only goes about killing them in self defense! Or to rescue people, like me. Harry'd never do anything irresponsible! He's the most responsible boy, ever.
Oh, Anne! I don't think it's a fools errand, at all.
Even if the boy I'm setting you up with is a bit of a fool! You deserve to be happy just as much as anyone. There's no reason for you to think of yourself this way, at all! Even if it is rather romantic and all. Wouldn't you rather be with a nice boy who likes adventures?
