Birthdays and New Years ((Methos, open RP))

Methos wasn't sure when he had decided to start marking his birthdays on the new year. It may have been in Rome, or while he was living in Athens, he couldn't remember exactly; but it made it easier to count the years as they passed.

Today he turned five thousand two hundred and fifty seven.. or so.

It had been a supremely strange year, and given his age, that was saying something. He had gone on wild drinking binges with angels, met old friends he had thought long dead, and learned magic.

The immortal wasn't in much of a celebrating mood, so he headed out to walk near the Forbidden Forest. In a leather bag slung over his shoulder was a six pack of beer, a bottle of scotch and a bottle of old honeyed mead he begged off a house elf. He'd drink, toast in the new year, and another year past.

He'd be unlikely to admit it in such simple terms, but the Master was a massive attention whore. He'd taken great glee in broadcasting from the Valiant, with a devastated planet cowering at his words. He didn't have a planet at his mercy just now... but there was always WART.

Of course, that wasn't the only thing he was up to. Just as the last song ended, a basket was delivered to the Eleventh Doctor's door.

DETHTOWER has arrived!

As the first day of the year dawns, crudely-lettered posters appear around the school. These posters contain almost nothing aside from their cryptic lettering.

It had been promised many months ago. Certain elements of plan had changed- it was certainly not atop the tower of House Hufflepuff- but, nevertheless, it had now come into being. Stone by stone it had risen, its name given by Nathan Explosion, its construction hidden by the odd angle at which the architectural monstrosity was set in regards to normal, three-dimensional space.
