((Why oh why does that damn samurai insist on meeting the other characters in my head????))

There are many things in the world that simply defy explanation. That is the nature of the world, after all. Usually, though, if you followed things far enough, you could find a reason for them. It was just a matter of following things to their logical conclusion.

So, the logical conclusion of Kurama calling someone a friend and then trying to talk Yukimura out of wanting to meet him was that there must be a reason for it, a reason that Yukimura wanted to know. Never being one to stay away from things he was supposed to, Yukimura sought out a way to meet this Mello person. He knew Mello was blond, had a bad attitude and was generally trouble. He added to that list that he must be reasonably intelligent for Kurama to consider him a friend. He couldn't see the kitsune tolerating anyone who was merely normal or subpar. He also knew Mello practiced martial arts.

With that much information, he asked the house elves. The looks they gave him made him think that it would be better not to press for information, though, lest he be stuck with only their western food. He decided that another investigative tack was needed. So, instead, he asked the house elves if there was anywhere to practice martial arts inside the castle. They told him of a room called the Room of Requirement and how to find it. He thanked them, which seemed to please them, and found his way there.
And they were kung-fu fighting... )

Meg was still, as per her mun's last hiatus notice, at home with her family celebrating the holidays, but that didn't mean that the few gifts she'd bought didn't reach their recipients.

Thanks to the magic of Christmas, and not a little help from the house elves, a large, opulently decorated Christmas tree stood in the Great Hall. Santa stood back to admire the way the lights winked and glittered from the various branches, and he made an adjustment to the silver star on top.

Chuckling heartily, he began removing boxes from his knapsack and placed them beneath the tree.

There was a box for each person at Hogwarts. Inside the box the recipient would find something they might have asked Santa for had Santa's mun not been such a slacker about RP. Santa understood that Lezard Valeth had once done something similar, so he figured that if the formula worked once, it certainly would again.

Seeing that the presents were all distributed, Santa gave a last merry "Ho, ho, ho!" and climbed up the nearest chimney. His stay at Hogwarts had been pleasant, but now it was time for him to deliver presents to everyone else in the world.

OOC: Feel free to RP opening your presents. And they really can be anything that doesn't break community rules, the Fourth Wall, that sort of thing. Have fun with Santa's gifts!

Any Christmas that started out with socks was going to be a good one. Grant was one of five people in the world who liked getting socks, because they were useful, and he didn't have to spend his own money on them. Unlike the grandmothers of the world, though, he understood that giving socks was a generally bad idea. Nothing quite says, 'I'm ready for this relationship to be over' like giving socks to your girlfriend.

Jewelry, on the other hand, was probably going to be a hit.

Vesper Lynd had made only one brief dry run to the Muggle world in her newly created disguise, and that was to Christmas shop. On Christmas Eve, she lugged a shopping bag of wrapped parcels to the Owlery and sent out birds bearing gifts.
