In the end, the guilt ate B up too much.

Which is why at midnight, he ran down to the lake, swam in, and pulled the cat/evil half out.

Beyond never was aware of it, and wouldn't have been if B hadn't been blubbering about how it wasn't fair to drown mean B and how B hopes Matt would forgive him for pulling mean B out but it wasn't fair and B was sorry.

Though Beyond was angry, he was a)too weak and wet to do more than scratch ineffectually, and b)slightly touched. Not enough to change his ways, but maybe he won't be so keen on getting his body back.

Maybe.

So yeah. Crying kid by the lake, holding a wet cat.
