Most of the classrooms in this alleged school seemed to be empty. This suited Brainiac Five perfectly well, because it meant he could take one over for his own purposes. Which did not, at the moment, include Legion business, but had involved several angry notes on chalkboards like 'PHYSICS DOES NOT WORK LIKE THAT' and 'MY SOUL FOR A FUNCTIONING INTEGRATED CIRCUIT.'

He hadn't bothered to erase them yet. They made the room look... lived in.

It was just like him, Brainy considered in his more philosophical moments, not only to end up a thousand years in the past but in the one place on Earth that was even further behind than that.

At the moment, he had a project that was only vaguely filling him with rage: trying to create a transmatter gate with found materials. Thus far, he'd managed... a wooden ring, sufficiently large enough, on a slightly raised platform. Everything else was being problematic. "Note to self: magical power sources don't appear to conform to standard electrodynamic rules. Please see board note #1 whenever this is in doubt."
