Duck to Cox

There was a reason Lily had avoided...well, pretty much everywhere since New Year's. Now, staring at the poster outside of the Great Hall, Lily sighed and rubbed her forehead absently. Right. Well, she was going to have to deal with this. She didn't want to deal with this. But it had to be done, and putting it off wouldn't make it any easier. So, with another sigh and a baleful look at the cheerful writing, Lily headed back up to her room to send Mr. Quackers off.

After several hours in the library, Mayday is at her wit's end.

On Lizzy's advice, she has been studying magic on her own and can now manage a passable ward without setting the letter on fire. But the subject she's been studying today is totally different, and the texts in the library aren't any help. And she hasn't gotten a response to the owls she's sent home since Christmas.

The problem boils down to this: she's running out of web-fluid, she can't get a hold of her Dad to get more, and even though she's memorized the formula for emergencies she's pretty sure she can't just go buy the ingredients or find a lab with which to make more. Sure, she could just do without, but the Christmas incident makes her suspect that she might need it.

There's only one person left who could help her (well, two, but she hasn't seen Dom in over a week), and while she's not eager to explain why she needs the web-fluid, she's out of ideas. After discarding several drafts, she finally finishes the letter and sends it.

Well, Eris thought she was clever. She cackled to herself as she stood on a stepladder, barefoot but still in her school uniform.

God knows where she'd gotten it, but throughout the hallways she'd strung up a series of baskets, laundry bins, fishnets and anything else that seemed like it'd make a good trap. Underneath each, she'd placed a trigger: a cup of tea and a plate of biscuits, usually very obviously attached to the ropes above with bits of twine.

And a hand-lettered sign on each one.

Kallisti Doctori

For the Doctor-est one.

She beamed at the latest, hooked an apples bin onto a suit of armor, and carefully climbed back down.

Wyle E Coyote, eat your heart out.

*Demyx was sitting on a large rock near the lake, plucking out a melody on his sitar, enjoying the quiet and the feeling of water all around him. Unfortunately, since this is Hogwarts, the quiet's not going to last. But for the moment, it's nice to be alone with nothing in particular to think about.*

You are what you are, you dream what you dream, play on your blue guitar for me...
Play me a serenade, a simple masquerade, play on your blue guitar for me...

((OOC: Any music lovers, or haters, with good hearing, or anyone else wandering around the lake, can feel free to come strike up a conversation.))
