Several very fine owls go to the following recipients, each one carrying a thick, gilt-edged invitation:

(OOC: Backdated to here, open to anyone happening to be in the common room at the time.)

After the more or less disasterous events that followed the Doctor owling Claire, the two of them finally wandered back into the common room. "Right then, come on, sit down." He maneuvered Claire into a seat by the fireplace.

"Said I'd get you some tea, didn't I? Tea's good for lots of things, calming frayed nerves being one of them. ...Right, just have to find some tea around here...ah, here we go." With a flick of his wand, a pair of cups and a teapot full of water wandered over, and with another, teabags plopped into it yes, they just happened to all be sitting there. "I could get used to this. Won't be but a few ticks," he added, teapot now over the fireplace.

"I'm sorry," he then apologized. "Didn't mean to drag you into that situation there. You sure you're all right? Good night's rest will do you good."

((OOC Note: This is post-series Utena, but because of the events at the end of the series, she doesn't remember Ohtori Academy or anything about the duels. She also doesn't remember the Prince or What Happened In The Church.))

Lily had suggested meeting for breakfast in the Great Hall. Harry figured he should get some alone time with her before he faced Sirius and James, so he left Ginny asleep in the Slythendor suite and went to meet his Mum for the second time.

He looked around the great hall, didn't see her, so chose a quiet end of the Slytherin table. He sat, tried to fix his hair, poured himself a glass of pumpkin juice and then waited nervously.

((OOC: Lily and Harry may well screen themselves once they start talking, but it's breakfast time. It's the great hall, feel free to start something.))

Thanks to their conversation at Wolfram's duel with Roxy, Ryuuji found himself in the unenviable position of picking out books on sadomasochism because Wolfram had asked for it and Ryuuji was the Slytherin Prefect after all. About an hour or so later, he made his way to the Hufflepuff dorms, and dropped off a box in front of Wolfram's room, containing the following books:

Book List. )

((Sarah needs to be more social, feel free to come and talk to her. I'm on IRC if you want to chat about it first. xD))

Reaching the end of the section in the book in her lap, Sarah's gaze left the page and traveled out over the lake. Thus far, she had been what she considered successful in learning, despite having had no classes to attend. She had discovered books in the library that apparently were the last texts used when classes used to happen regularly and had been using them as an outline to steadily make her way through the coursework. This self-guided independent study, even in subjects she did not care for much, was more initiative than she had in her first year of college, but then, that hadn't been necessary in a school where they had classes. So far she had determined she was average at wand work and surprisingly good, in her opinion, at Potions and Care of Magical Creatures. It was hard to judge the latter, of course, with only written work and no classes to interact with the creatures, so perhaps she'd have to track down a way to do so. It was the former, however, that she was most concerned with, as there were still things she had questions on and knew she could use a teacher... she just had not gotten the nerve to do so yet.

She sighed, leaning back against the tree as she looked around, unable to concentrate and go back to her book. There were not many people around where she sat, as it was not close to the lake or the castle, but there were enough to observe. That had become one of her favorite non-studying activities, as the temptation to know more about the people from different times and places and races was far too great to resist.

Methos had excused himself early from Draco's party to help ensure the room was set up. Several bottles of red wine were being brought to the proper temperature thanks to some handy charms he'd uncovered in the past few days, and he'd persuaded the elves to provide several trays of lighter desserts for the guests to enjoy. He couldn't figure out how to get the sound system to work--he'd leave that Crowley. Pouring a glass of wine for himself, he sat down in one of the chairs and waited, hoping everyone would come.

((Description of the room can be found here. Those invited were: Sorting Hat, Stephen Maturin, Wimsey, Aziraphale, Tonks, Lupin, Kira and Constantine))

Scrawled on a piece of paper with shaking hands. After hearing the voices, she knew she'd better hurry up.

Stephen felt he had been rather negligent.  He had only held a meeting of Potions class once since taking the position as potions master, which really would not do, though he knew some of his colleagues held classes even less frequently.  He had hoped to convene the class this week, but there was that damned duel with Cox to get out of the way first.

At least he could make himself available for office hours.  It was not much of a chore; the previous office hours had occasioned some interesting non-potions-related conversations.  By now his new and more competent house-elf knew the drill, and posted accurate signs up outside the Great Hall, in each house's common room, and on Stephen's office door.

Office hours for Potions are being held. Current and prospective students are welcome to drop by Professor Maturin's office to discuss any issue of interest to them.

((Takes place before Methos's Drama-free Club meeting, obviously.))

Draco hadn't lied in his owl to Methos when he'd said that he'd nearly missed his own birthday. He had only been unpopcorned a short while ago and the change had messed up his sense of time a bit. The invitations had therefore been late, and were rather sparse since he knew so few people, but he was determined to make up for it with a lovely exclusive party.

He was there at 7 PM, waiting for his guests to arrive. The unused classroom had been entirely converted, of course: the desks were gone and in their place, in the center of the room, was a lovely round table dressed in silver and white. The cool stone walls had been draped with silks in all four House colors in deference to his varied guests. Along one wall stretched an extravagantly laid buffet, and along another was a stocked bar. House-elves, in scarlet, hovered by the food and drink, waiting to serve.

In other words, Draco was ready. Let the sucking up presents birthday party begin!

(All these are obnoxiously sparkly, he's not in anyway copying what Morfin did with his 'invite' to therapy. Though the Doctor's and JD have questionable doodles on them.)
