Cas's own memories of the preceding day were fairly complete, but also limited by the simplicity of his perceptions and understanding at the time. It took him some time after he'd wakened to sort through them and contextualize everything more or less correctly.

Some of it was no more than embarrassing, which he could cope with, and some of the things he'd believed were his fault he was now fairly sure actually weren't, but there was no question (at least in his mind) that he should have noticed Bobby's difficulties without needing Death to call his attention to them. And he wanted to make sure the old hunter had recovered as well.

So the first place he headed when he left his room was to Bobby's door, rapping softly to as not to disturb the man if he still slept.
