Lezard bloop!ed into visible existence. Only once he saw (1) who'd said his name, and (2) where he was, he immediately regretted ever having cast a spell that alerted him to anyone uttering his name and summoning him to the spot. (He'd created the spell for the Shoggies' use, mainly.)
