The Professor had begged off candy duty for a few minutes, so the Doctor, ever obliging, took over the station, handing out to hopeful students and picking out all the Jelly Babies for himself.
When he saw Rose, he jumped to his feet, grinning so widely and stupidly that it was obvious he was doing it so as not to cry a bit. Of all his companions he thought he'd never see again... and here she was, all smiles and wide eyes.
"Happy Halloween," he said, barely able to keep the excitement from his voice. He wondered how quickly she'd recognize him.
