Rebounding and Resounding ((Open RP, L, Great Hall))
While not exactly the easiest thing to do, L, aka Ryuuzaki, was adjusting his own manner of thinking. He felt he'd reached some degree of success when he took A shopping rather than question his potential preparedness. He was making a concerted effort and when he made a concerted effort, things happened.
Concerted efforts also required sustenance. And, while eating in his room was adequate, L knew that, as part of his programme to change, he needed to get out more often. So, rather than request cheesecake and tea be brought to his room, he ventured out to the Great Hall, perching on a bench, adding copious amounts of sugar to his tea. Glucose, after all, was vital for brain functioning.

'All that sugar,' Rose informs L, 'Will rot your teeth.'
She has had exactly one filling in her so-far-short lifetime, and she genuinely wishes to save anyone else from the same fate.

Rose's parents are artists. Bill is more concerned with appearances than Eve, being the more upwardly-mobile of the two, and although Rose is fairly sure she doesn't like her father as much as her mother, she still cringes at some of the things he, too, would frown upon.
Sugar coming out of somebody's tea is one of them.

He glanced at the girl, setting his spoon down. "Sugar at the bottom of the cup indicates that the solution is maximally saturated. At this point, the tea is prepared for consumption."

Indigo would tell him off for saying 'spit' as if it were present tense, when it's actually past. Maybe not. Indigo wants to get on with people.

L took a sip of his tea, holding the cup between his thumb and forefinger, the handle in front of his nose. "I have heard that almost only qualifies for hand grenades and horseshoes, though I fail to understand the second," he admited.

The girl knows a lot, but at times like this it's better to just smile thinly and hand her a textbook. She won't read it, but she will appreciate the effort.

Oh, hey, L, he'll cheer him up.
"Hey," Matt said with a grin, nudging L and sitting next to him.

Mio was starting-sort of-to, well, not get over Mayu, canonically, she never will. But she could hold it together long enough to meet people and get some food.
She smiled shyly at L as she walked in. "Um. What are you eating?"

After a quick peek to make sure there were no mad orgies or suddenly transformed students milling about, he strolled in, motioned for a house elf to bring him some black coffee, and sat across from L.
"Ryuuzaki," he greeted politely, folding his hands.
