Teatime's eye narrowed. usually 'The guys upstairs' referred to, well, The guys upstairs. He had a keen grasp of metaphor, though he didn't often like to use it. So that meant he was not in that 'bad' place that he was so often told to go to but the opposite.
That feeling of justification welled up in him again, that little palpitation that made his unnerving smile look just a little more genuine. Perhaps Death - even after Teatime's attempts at annihilation - had vindicated him with the correct pronunciation. Perhaps, all this time, he had been right.
However, Maia didn't seem particularly... angelic, despite being an attractive female. Or at least with that certain aesthetic. "Yes," he answered finally. "I am dead."
