Mel waits a bit, biting her lip and fighting the impulse to run to him, before walking quietly, and measuredly, over to him. She crouches down til she's at his level. 'I'm so sorry,' she says in an undertone. 'My vibes--they work, always. You're the first person they haven't. It's not even magic, really, but I can't think why it did this to you.'
