The carving of bells, hearts, and horseshoe only made the handle that much more unwieldy.

"I'm not sure if you're supposed to use it, or hang it on the wall, or what," she said, holding out the spoon to Jezz handle-first. "Horseshoes are thought to be lucky, anyway, and that's all I really know."
