Ryder held up a placating hand. "Just curious," he said softly. "I don't meet many people with what you might call 'specialized' talents. Not for lack of trying, either." He tried to imagine hitching and being picked up by someone like this kid--he had a feeling he wouldn't even have to ask to be stopped. Kid might do it just because he felt like it.
