"Well, that's just the thing," Mason prompted right back, grimacing a bit in light of the parrot mention. "Parrots, they're right out messy birds, yeah? Shitting all over their cage and causing a ruckus. I don't see much of a purpose of having a bird as a pet at all. Unless you're eating it."
