Secrets Board 7!

There is a noticeboard up outside the Great Hall and one by one, images are appearing pinned to the corkboard, with students tacking up thoughts on the images on index cards. Nobody can ever catch anyone posting an image, only the comments, and there is no way to use magic or science to know who posted what.


(The following text is OOC, of course!)

The rules are these:

Secrets are made and posted ICly, as are comments unless noted with double brackets. It should, but won't, go without saying that the secrets board is no exception to the rules of the game.

Images that are just spam or are so big they'll stretch the page will be screened, as will anything likely to 'trigger' muns or anything that appears to have been created solely for the purpose of causing wank. Under 800x600 is best, please.

Please don't char-bash without consent from the player. A loose or vague image that doesn't name the character or have a picture of them is fine, but nothing that explicitly targets a character unless their mun okays it first or unless their mun has put them up on the fair-game-for-anything list. (Note that even if a character is on the fair-game list below, unhappy/negative secrets made about them must still follow game rules, e.g., no fourth-wall breakage.)

We've made a couple of administrative changes to this round of the Secrets Board, so
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE POSTING ANYTHING:



In the past, we've asked you to put a random number in the subject line of each post. This time, so that secrets are more easily distinguishable, we ask that you put into the subject line of your comment a brief description (just a few words) of the image in your secret. For example, if your post has a picture of a forest with an evil clown in the foreground, you could put "Evil Clown in Forest."

Please remember that your characters cannot read the text in the subject line. It is there so that muns can more easily identify which secrets they are following. It is OOC text.

If your secret requires a warning (e.g., it contains violent or sexual images that are 'not safe for work'), please insert an OOC warning just before your description. So, for example, if your secret has a picture of a forest with a naked evil clown with a huge gaping chest wound in the foreground, you could put "WARNING: NSFW - Evil Clown in Forest."

Last time, we asked that you include alt tags so that muns who are blind can read descriptions of the secrets. However, it turns out that alt tags don't work when images are anonymously posted. So, this time, we think it'd be nice if, below the secret itself, you could type out the text of the secret and any relevant details about the imagery, particularly if your secret is intended for a character played by a mun whom you know to be visually impaired. You are not obligated to do this, but it would still be greatly appreciated.

For image hosting, if you don’t want your secrets to be traceable by archive name or the like, you might make use of a site like tinypic.

The HTML to post an image is simply: <img src="link">

So, let's say your secret is http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a81/helarctos/accessible.jpg

Your subject line will read:

"a package of Crystal Light"

and your comment might look like this:

<img src="http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a81/helarctos/accessible.jpg">

"My fandom is accessible at all times." [superimposed over a package of Crystal Light]

Be sure to post anonymously! We have enabled anonymous commenting for this event.



Also remember: Half the fun of the secrets board is commenting! Don't be shy about commenting to secrets that you suspect or know aren't directed toward your character, or about commenting to others' comments. Many interesting conversations can start on the secrets board!
