Open RP: Who, Me?
Carrie found the flier in the Hufflepuff common room on her way to breakfast. Once the shock subsided, she grabbed parchment and quill and copied the information to study over coffee. Lots and lots of coffee, this was going to take.
Candidates for Hufflepuff prefect....Jeeves, Quaxo, Toki - Carrie.
She read and reread her scribbled notes until her vision blurred. Prefect?! When did this happen? How did this happen? Why would anyone put her up for such a thing? The only time she'd ever nominated for anything, much less elected, the honor came with a punch line at the end... Then again, there was always the chance someone meant it as a compliment - wasn't there?
Although she wasn't really aware of it, the table and all the objects on it began to tremble ever so slightly.
((Feel free to come poke her. I'll be in and out today, but I'll be checking in as often as I can!))

"Well. That was weird," she said with a casual little laugh. But she could feel herself blushing, which was sure to be a dead giveaway. Wasn't it?

He closed the book and might have walked on except that he recognized one of the people at that table.
"Hello, Carrie," he said with a shy smile as he sat down across from her. "You look a little upset. Is something amiss?"

"Thanks. It's - a surprise. I don't know...At least one of these I know would be at least as good at it as I'd be, maybe better. If I'm puttin' the right name with the right face -" She thought back to the Christmas party, where she'd seen a starched Britisher who looked so like a Jeeves he could hardly be anything else, "- then it's prob'ly two like that. The third - is new here. Not sure what kind of a job he'd do."

She looked up at Samwell. "When you joined your - Watch, right? - was it easier or harder? Than bein' out in the world, I mean."
