Closed RP, Jack and Kate.
Jack nervously adjusted his suit and checked for the twentieth time that the carriage was still there. He kept looking down the corridor, looking for Kate. He held the flowers, which were temporarily under an invisibility spell, and sent another owl off to the restaurant to double check the bookings. Jack was nervous. Why should he be? He'd went through nail biting surgeries, survived the island from hell, and a whole lot more besides. What was it about Kate that made him so scared? It was only a date. He refused to allow himself to think of the fact that he'd been waiting for this to happen for Months. He'd always liked Kate, ever since the crash, and the were finally going out! He wanted everything to be perfect. He looked around again. Where was she?

The day previous had been hell... Sawyer'd sent his 'gift', and the resulting confrontation had been one Kate didn't enjoy remembering, much less having. Sawyer insisted that it had been a hapless misunderstanding, and Kate had insisted that maybe that was part of the problem.
And afterwards, well, it had been hard for her to return to her room. She had needed air. Badly. And you could sometimes feel the weight of the lake resting over your head in the Slytherin dorms... it was claustripobic.
So the afternnon and evening had been spent on the grounds, climbing trees, making a few new friends, being lonely... the staple she'd lived on since the last days of High School.
She'd stayed out long past midnight, and into the morning, weaving bracelets from the long grass and practicing the spells she'd learned until the first rays of the sun had peeked above the distant rim of the mountains. Only then did the weight of the day before break through her resolve, and suddenly she was too tired to stand.
Upon arriving in her room, she fell asleep immediately, and didn't wake up 'till 7:05.
Darkly, absently, she felt that she was forgetting something as she blearily glanced at the bedside alarm-clock, trying to make out the hands in the green-tinted half-light. Something... Ugh. Did I really sleep for over twelve hours? Haven't done that since the first days on the island... Jack found those sleeping pills and finally gave them to me when I smiled really sweetly and FUCK! JACK!
She jumped out of bed, still half-asleep, her hair in a messy ponytail, her clothes stinking of sweat and old sheets.
Quickly, she pens an owl:
J.
I'll be
510a few minutes late. Something's come up.Thanks!

Jack's owl flew tapped impatiently at Kate's door while she was trying to make her hair look un-slept in using a damp towel and a book titled '2001 Glamours for the Self-Conscious Witch'. Sighing with exasperation with a tinge of panic, she opened the door with her foot, and manage to tease the scrap of paper to where she could read it. Good, she thought, applying a bit of eyeliner, he doesn't sound too mad at me.
With a little bit of womanly ingenuity and a fair amount of loser's luck, she managed to make herself look presentable in only about eight minutes, and rushed barefoot, high-heels in hand, through the dungeon corridors and up the stairs to the entrance hall. Slipping on the shoes and adjusting the green antimacassar she'd filched from the back of a chair and adopted as a makeshift shawl, she scanned the room for Jack. Amazingly, the seemingly random piece of fabric seemed to go well with the simple red dress (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y44/GrinningJim/RedDress.jpg) she'd bought in her first week at Hogwarts in a fit of self-indulgence.
Spotting Jack, she smiled, and waved briefly before walking uneasily toward him. Heels weren't her thing.

Jack spotted Kate through the crowd and grinned. He walked over, holding the invisible flowers inconspicuously, and said "Hey, Kate. You look amazing."
