I have been asked by the Headmistress to inform you that, in my capacity as Potions Master, I am happy to provide you with Wolfsbane Potion on a regular basis. Simply visit my office when you have need of it.

While much has been made of this potion's difficulty to brew, I find it certainly within the realm of my abilities, and you need not worry as to the efficacy of the potion you receive from me as long as you do not adulterate it with sugar. If in doubt, my predecessor has left all his appurtenances behind him, and you are welcome to compare his Wolfsbane Potion with my own. I fully understand that one in your condition would not want to leave anything to chance.

((OOC: Considering that Maturin is one of literature's great experimental drug users, and compounds medicines on a regular basis, I'm sure he's not just being cocky about this -- he really can make the potion. If you want something to go awry with your potion, you'll have to have your character do something to it after s/he receives the potion. ))

OOC announcement: Yes, Dr Maturin is now Potions Master, and he's one of literature's great experimental drug users, so you can expect much wacky research into potions. Already he's found a recipe that enables mpreg, out of his concern for Ryuuji and Nightwing. If you want your character to do something plotwise that some insane potion would help along, feel free to have them pester Maturin, IC or OOC ... he's always up for a challenge, provided it doesn't go against his sense of ethics.

I'm a responsible guy. Anyways, you don't have to worry, there'll be no wolfy. I have other methods.

My curiosity is piqued. Would it be too intrusive to inquire as to said methods? The no-wolfy methods, that is; as to folk tunes, I am in no need of education, and can raise you a sea chantey or two at that.

Chanting, meditating, some good tea. It's a nice life.

Which element is most instrumental in preventing the change, do you think: the chanting, the meditation, or the tea?

I'd say the meditation. It's all about keeping balance, and that is best brought through meditation. The chanting and the tea just help me keep calm.

This sounds to be an Eastern thing. I have spent a bit of time in India, and am not wholly unfamiliar with such customs. Might it not help the other werewolves, as well, to learn this technique? It seems a sad sort of life, to be dependent on a potion so difficult as to prohibit the ordinary man from brewing his own.

I don't think I could teach them how, though I pointed them both to where they could find help. There's risk involved so I don't blame them for deciding not to.

That may be wise, should your method be prone to failure, and they not conversant with a sufficiently wide range of folk tunes. However, I would be interested to learn where this help was found.

It's only failed a couple of times, and both of the things that encouraged the change are gone now. And it was in a temple in Tibet.

Stephen does get bitten by the owl, but thinks it would be impolite to say so. He answers:

He did indeed, but I should not have said so unless asked. Since you offer, I will say I am in the habit of naming creatures after my particular friend Captain Aubrey, and "Aubrey" seems to me a pleasant enough name for a vicious bloodthirsty owl.
