The Water Warlocks (Open Chocolate Plot, whole school)

They'd raced through the dungeon, Kuronue taking the West end, Kurama the East, and by the time they met up again, every water pipe in the place was glowing a different color. Some were even alight with colors that didn't even exist, or sparkled and dripped in disconcerting ways.

"Excellent," Kurama grinned, shoving his wand back into its holster. "I wonder what'll happen once the sprinklers go on in the greenhouses."

There was a long pause of contemplation.

"I think you might wanna take a day or two off work," Kuronue said, catching a distant tinkle of glass as something in that general area broke. Or, broke free.

"D'you think we might not have planned this out too carefully?" Kurama asked.

Another long pause.

“Still, you know... No need to get tentacle raped or something.” Kuronue looked oddly pleased at the possibility of such happening however. Especially since he knew it was possible.

Well, it was Kurama.

((OOC - Kuro socking done with mun approval. Basic chocolate plot rules apply, all the water in the school is magicked, cursed, charmed, and so forth, all with different effects up to the mun. Have fun!))

Jing returned the smile, small as well. "Have you asked him?" he asked. "It seems that Kurama's mate is hard to read at times," he said, his smile becoming somewhat ironic.

The irony wasn't lost on him either. "Not yet," he said. "Apparently he needs time to think about things."

Which annoyed him, because Kuronue's modus operandi or surprising people and badgering until they gave in. It was easier to make them fail if they hadn't the time to think it through.

"Somethings are better solved, more easily solved, at least, by waiting some," he said. "After all, the only way to win at gambling is not to be greedy," he added, grinning.

He grunted. "Well that would explain why I always lose at gambling then," he said, exasperated.

Jing laughed. "Probably. But, patience and lack of greed can be learned, if you really want to." He shrugged. "If you really want what you're after, you'll have to learn, I suppose."

"Learn patience?" He snorted. "The card game perhaps. Not the other one. I'm only patient when I want to be." And he did not want to be. He was...sick of waiting, of being patient for something that may have never come. He wanted it over with, already.

Jing held up his hands. "You don't value your dreams enough for me to steal them yet," he said, slipping his hands back into his pockets. "If you did, patience would not cost you so much."

He thought of the dream balls Jing had given him. He thought it might be worth looking at them again, even if he'd hidden them and tried not to go near them in case Jing tracked him. He certainly wouldn't be able to do so until he was a demon again. It was too easy to be tracked when he was human, after all.

He huffed a little, rubbed at his chest, finding the beat of his heart annoying for all he couldn't quite hear it as easily as a human. "I guess so," he said, looking thoughtful.

Jing tilted his head a little. "Learn to value your dreams, Kuronue, or the game isn't worth the time," he said, his voice soft. "All of your dreams, the ones you've obtained and the ones you still long for." He walked away, leaving Kuronue to figure out what he meant on his own.
