The Water Warlocks (Open Chocolate Plot, whole school)

They'd raced through the dungeon, Kuronue taking the West end, Kurama the East, and by the time they met up again, every water pipe in the place was glowing a different color. Some were even alight with colors that didn't even exist, or sparkled and dripped in disconcerting ways.

"Excellent," Kurama grinned, shoving his wand back into its holster. "I wonder what'll happen once the sprinklers go on in the greenhouses."

There was a long pause of contemplation.

"I think you might wanna take a day or two off work," Kuronue said, catching a distant tinkle of glass as something in that general area broke. Or, broke free.

"D'you think we might not have planned this out too carefully?" Kurama asked.

Another long pause.

“Still, you know... No need to get tentacle raped or something.” Kuronue looked oddly pleased at the possibility of such happening however. Especially since he knew it was possible.

Well, it was Kurama.

((OOC - Kuro socking done with mun approval. Basic chocolate plot rules apply, all the water in the school is magicked, cursed, charmed, and so forth, all with different effects up to the mun. Have fun!))

"Typecasting?" Jing asked and then shrugged. "If you didn't, you know who did or you wouldn't be asking for a refund, would you?" he asked, smirking.

Dammit.

His mouth opened, then closed then opened again. "You're too smart for your own good," he grumbled, giving Jing a small heated look.

Then he smiled. "Then again, it was pretty fun."

[identity profile] kingbandit.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Jing smiled at Kuronue's glare. "And, I still have a lot to learn," he said, shrugging. "So, causing this was fun?"

[identity profile] prettypendulum.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
He sobered a little, hands going back to his pockets. He turned and nodded down the hall, urging Jing to walk with him. "Yeah," he said. "Kurama needed a distraction from some shit he's been going through. It was the first thing that came to mind."

[identity profile] kingbandit.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Jing followed, his hands slipping into his pockets. "Kurama's been having problems?" he asked, looking curiously at Kuronue. "I haven't seen much of him since I stole the mask."

[identity profile] prettypendulum.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
His eyebrows went up. "You got the Vintage Smile back, did you?" Well, that was interesting. Kuronue wasn't sure if anyone had ever stolen anything from Kurama.

"Hm. Another of the demons that had been around here was doing all kinds of nasty things to get at him, and then there's been some upsets between us and his mate. He needed a distraction, in short. He...was pretty close to snapping, I think." Which wasn't good.

[identity profile] kingbandit.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"Of course," Jing replied to the question about the mask, though he sobered and listened to the rest. "What's the problem between you and his mate?" he asked, tilting his head a little.

[identity profile] prettypendulum.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"We have a history of...well, violence. I tried to kill him, once. Kurama never admitted to loving me, and I died before he admitted it even to himself. Then his mate came along and he admitted he loved him no problem." He gestured down the hall, to the school in general.

"When I came here, I was...rather furious that his mate had taken his heart when it should have been mine. " He shook his head. "Anyway, things sort of eased over the past year and now Kurama's finally admitted he needs to be with me as well as his mate. His mate...well, I don't think he agrees."

He gave Jing a small smile.

[identity profile] kingbandit.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Jing returned the smile, small as well. "Have you asked him?" he asked. "It seems that Kurama's mate is hard to read at times," he said, his smile becoming somewhat ironic.

[identity profile] prettypendulum.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
The irony wasn't lost on him either. "Not yet," he said. "Apparently he needs time to think about things."

Which annoyed him, because Kuronue's modus operandi or surprising people and badgering until they gave in. It was easier to make them fail if they hadn't the time to think it through.

[identity profile] kingbandit.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"Somethings are better solved, more easily solved, at least, by waiting some," he said. "After all, the only way to win at gambling is not to be greedy," he added, grinning.

[identity profile] prettypendulum.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
He grunted. "Well that would explain why I always lose at gambling then," he said, exasperated.

[identity profile] kingbandit.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 10:48 am (UTC)(link)
Jing laughed. "Probably. But, patience and lack of greed can be learned, if you really want to." He shrugged. "If you really want what you're after, you'll have to learn, I suppose."

[identity profile] prettypendulum.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"Learn patience?" He snorted. "The card game perhaps. Not the other one. I'm only patient when I want to be." And he did not want to be. He was...sick of waiting, of being patient for something that may have never come. He wanted it over with, already.

[identity profile] kingbandit.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Jing held up his hands. "You don't value your dreams enough for me to steal them yet," he said, slipping his hands back into his pockets. "If you did, patience would not cost you so much."

[identity profile] prettypendulum.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
He thought of the dream balls Jing had given him. He thought it might be worth looking at them again, even if he'd hidden them and tried not to go near them in case Jing tracked him. He certainly wouldn't be able to do so until he was a demon again. It was too easy to be tracked when he was human, after all.

He huffed a little, rubbed at his chest, finding the beat of his heart annoying for all he couldn't quite hear it as easily as a human. "I guess so," he said, looking thoughtful.

[identity profile] kingbandit.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Jing tilted his head a little. "Learn to value your dreams, Kuronue, or the game isn't worth the time," he said, his voice soft. "All of your dreams, the ones you've obtained and the ones you still long for." He walked away, leaving Kuronue to figure out what he meant on his own.
