The unpopping of Alice Cullen.
((Open RP, buuut mainly for happy reunion times with sparklehubby Jasper. The thread with him will automatically be the last one, but if you want your character to meet Alice you can comment wherever. Oh, and I've got permission for this.))
Alice's timing was, as always, impeccable.
She rather wished she wouldn't have to deal with the popcorn butter -- her blouse was beyond saving, and the smell would never wash out -- but she had anticipated it and was prepared. Her clothes would still be in her old room in Hufflepuff, and she still had some time before Jasper would be out of the Sorting Room. Being a seer was ever-so practical sometimes! She nearly danced her way through the corridors, timing it so that as few people as possible would see her with her clothes in the current state.
The room was as it should be, and her clothes were waiting. Alice quickly changed and washed her hair and face from remnants of butter and salt. It didn't take long.Sparklepires repel filth when it's not sexy.
There. Jasper should have gotten her note by now. Excellent! Alice smiled at herself in the mirror and then she was off again, skipping off back to the Popcorn Room. She seated herself outside, and crossed her legs daintily as she waited. Her husband would show up here soon, but in the meantime she absolutely wouldn't mind having someone to talk to.

And he knew exactly how the question was meant. The undercurrent of distress bothered him—he hated being the cause of so much concern and worry, especially with Alice—but he let it be. He rarely tampered with Alice's feelings the way he did so casually with others. It seemed entirely too dishonest to do so, except in less serious circumstances (namely the way he enjoyed causing those little shivers of pleasure for her at random moments when they weren't even near each other; Jasper was, perhaps, almost as bad as Emmett and Rose with that sort of teasing, but had the ability to be far more subtle about it.)
"Better," he said solemnly. Alice didn't need to be a mind reader to know that a large part of that better was due to her being there. "If not for Edward," he murmured, unknowingly voicing her thought, "I don't think I could have stopped myself the second time. It's a small comfort that no one can die here." Since he likely would have tried killing everyone else in the room after finishing with Akabane, even the little talking dog he'd become fond of. Even Bella, whom he loved as a sister. It was disturbing to think a regular, bleeding person would still be alive after being torn apart, the way vampires could be.
"And about Edward, and Bella as well... I'm not sure how, but they're—not ours," he explained hesitantly. "They're from our past, I mean. I still can't understand it. Time must work differently here." He leant down to lightly kiss Alice's temple, regretting that she had to be greeted with so much bad news. "They're not engaged here. That hasn't happened for them yet."

Better. Better was good, but not great. Alice was not completely satisfied, but there was nothing she could really do to ease Jasper's suffering, make his struggle easier. Though they were at Hogwarts now... Perhaps she could enlist the help of magic? A spell, a potion, to quench the thirst... She would have to go to the library. Talk to a professor. The idea mingled her anxiety with a touch of hope. Maybe, maybe there was something she could do...
Alice didn't contradict him there. "But he was there. So you didn't hurt anyone." But you hurt. She reached up and stroke over his cheek with her thumb. "You didn't hurt anyone," she repeated firmly. The no-kill spell was both a bit of a relief and an excuse. It would have been easy to think that it didn't matter if they fed on humans while here. They wouldn't take a life, no one would die, so they wouldn't be murderers and no harm would be done. Right? That was dangerous reasoning.
Then Alice got something else to think about, and her eyebrows knotted together. "Not engaged? What... But we've spoken to them after it was announced and that was before they came back here. How could they not be engaged?" What about the wedding?!
no subject
"I didn't," he agreed with a sad smile, leaning into her touch. "But I wanted to very badly." And that, for him, was just as much a part of the problem as anything. The thought of taking human life disgusted him on a visceral level—all the pain and fear they would feel, he would experience as well—and yet the craving for human blood was the one instinct he had trouble denying. The no-kill spell wouldn't be an excuse for him. Giving in to the craving, with or without death, would be an inexcusable failure.
"None of that has happened for them yet," he repeated, shaking his head slightly. "It's as though... they were pulled into the past when they returned here, and have no memories of anything that happened after they left Hogwarts the first time. There may be an explanation for it—I've been planning to do research in the library."
Of course, he wouldn't ignore the part that was undoubtedly very important to Alice.
"I think you should continue planning their wedding," he added with a quiet chuckle. "It will happen, eventually, I'm sure of that. Just try not to... think about things too loudly, I suppose." For obvious reasons.

"You're doing good," Alice promised, and gave him a chaste peck on the lips. She had to do a bit of climbing to reach, since even standing on her toes didn't help much, but Jasper would just have to accept being used as leverage. It wasn't like he wasn't used to it by now.
She frowned still at his explanation, and quickly scanned the immediate future. Yes, the vision of Bella was still there, her skin marble pale, her eyes glowing red. Still cemented and absolute. Alice couldn't tell when, but it would happen, so the engagement would happen too. Edward would want to marry her before allowing Carlisle to change her.
And then there was the strange blind spot, too, the one she'd noticed while talking to Maia (http://community.livejournal.com/hogwarts_hocus/1771303.html?thread=96984103#t96984103). Hogwarts was full of blind spots, though, for Alice. It was full of people she couldn't see. This one was strange though, because it concerned a vampire and a human she was used to seeing, and now the future was hiding things from her about them. It was as if she couldn't see, because this whole castle was getting in the way.
"It's a good thing I hadn't ordered the flowers yet, I suppose," she muttered. "They wouldn't last. How annoying. Now I'll have to convince Bella to let me do the wedding all over again." And she had been so reluctant the first time! Alice sighed. "I'll come to the library with you. I have some research of my own to do."

That almost foot and a half height difference between them wasn't often even consciously noticed by Jasper anymore, since it never posed a problem. He did try to meet Alice halfway whenever he could anticipate what she would do, though, which unfortunately wasn't now.
Talk about spidermonkeys. She was good at distracting him from dwelling on unpleasant thoughts.
"I'll help you however I can," he said, and this time his smile reached his eyes. "With the wedding and convincing Bella. Just direct me as necessary, as long as you don't ask me to cheat for you," he teased. It wouldn't be fair to use his talent to force Bella, after all.
"Would you like to go to the library now? You'll have to lead, because I don't know where it is yet," he admitted, and spared a thought for Satou. Hopefully his new roommate wouldn't mind him being gone for so long. Was Alice already aware of that situation? Best to make sure. "By the way, I've agreed to room with someone I met at my Sorting, as part of the application bribe. His name is Tatsuhiro Satou. Were you able to see that?" he wondered. "I won't be there all the time... I'd also like to stay wherever you'll be. If you don't mind, of course."
no subject
She did grin at Jasper's offer. His genuine smile was infectious. "Cheating won't be necessary, I think. I've got some tricks up my sleeve." Like being tiny, and annoying, and extremely persistent. A deadly combination
of doom."Mm, yes, I picked it up." And that was alright. Satou did seem to need Jasper, in a strange, not-at-all healthy way, so neglecting his promise completely was probably not a very good idea. A human roommate might even be good for Jasper, that is if he could control himself. If he couldn't—and Alice was all too aware of the distinct possibility that he might slip up—then it would make for spectacular disaster. "If you think you can do it, then I do to," she eventually said, and smiled. "Well... I might find room for you occasionally, if you're good." All teasing. Of course she didn't mind having her husband in her room, quite the opposite. "I've got some decorating to do in my room, though," she added. "It's a little too yellow for me at the moment." Alice liked her cars yellow, not her curtains. She'd have to redo the whole room, obviously. A pale, pale yellow, perhaps, here and there, but mostly whites. Ivory, or Cosmic Latte...
Alice was already starting plenty of projects at Hogwarts. Good thing she didn't sleep.
First thing's first, though. Now there was something else she'd like to discuss, and that with some urgency. Alice smiled slowly, and glanced up at him through her eyelashes. The emotion eminating from her was quite different now: a deep, heated rush of arousal that he had not manipulated out of her, but was most definitely the cause of anyway. "I had a bit of a different activity in mind, actually. Unless you mind?" Rowr.

He hadn't realised he'd been quite so worried about Alice's approval of his rooming situation until she gave it, and it was as though a weight got lifted from his shoulders. Needless to say, if she hadn't approved, Satou would now be minus one roommate. Or two, since the raptor would presumably go where Jasper did (but was thankfully elsewhere at the moment).
"I do like Satou. He's easy to be around," he said with a faint smile. So long as he breathed through his mouth, anyway. "I can help with the redecorating as well, if you'd like me to." Though he didn't anticipate Alice taking him up on it. He'd probably just end up in her way as she flit about the room making the necessary changes—but he'd be happy to look suitably impressed afterward, without even having to fake it. She'd always had a far better eye for colour than he did.
Maybe he'd put together a few bouquets while she redid her room, as a surprise. The boy, A, who he'd met at his Sorting would undoubtedly be able to help there. (Strange to think of him as a boy, when he was probably as old as Jasper had been pre-vampirisation...)
He managed to suppress his surprise at her unexpected mood—despite how long they'd been together, it still amazed him that she could want him in all the same ways he wanted her.
But at least he wasn't prone to go all Bella about it."I don't know," he murmured with feigned reluctance, "I was really looking forward to the library..." This was, of course, said as he was already not-so-subtly guiding her in the direction of the Hufflepuff dorms. That four-poster bed was officially doomed.

Jasper's help with redecorating would pretty much consist of sitting in a corner and providing her with something nice to look at while she worked. As much as she loved him, his help was not required in this. Well, maybe if she needed someone tall enough to reach the top of cabinets, or hang curtains, but even that she was perfectly capable of dealing with herself. Still, it was nice of him to offer, and she adored him for it. She'd even act astonished at the bouquets, even though it was virtually impossible to take Alice by surprise.
"You spend time with your new friend, Jazz. I think you'll be alright," she added slowly, though they both knew how quickly her visions could change as decisions did.
Alice left it at that, and slipped her arm around his waist as they–too slowly for her tastes–walked back to Hufflepuff. Her fingertips surreptitiously dipped down the back of his pants. Another positive thing about being a seer was that you could grope your husband in public and know you wouldn't be seen.
"That's too bad," she sighed, playing along. "I had a vision this morning and I'd like to discuss it with you. In private. You never know, it could be very important." Yes, she'd had a vision about herself and Jasper at Hogwarts. Had you never wondered what they were doing in this vision? The bed wouldn't last five minutes.

Hey, he could still surprise Alice through her visions. He was used to playing by her rules that way. Plus, he'd probably know if she were faking. Surprise, that is.
Erm.Lacking any kind of precognitive ability himself, he was certainly able to be surprised, and laughed softly at the unexpected groping. "You're so impatient," he murmured with mock-disapproval, though his smile was far too pleased to make the act at all convincing. Even that small of a gesture from her—combined with her already all too irresistible mood—was having a rather noticeable effect on him, the sort that might have been embarrassing if the hallways were crowded. Thankfully, being sometime past midnight, very few students were even still out and about to notice.
Those flowing black Hogwarts robes would definitely be convenient if this was going to become a habit.
"Oh, we'll certainly have to discuss your vision, then," he said as they reached the dorms, and he let her do the guiding from there, as he didn't yet know where her—their?—room was. If he weren't feeling increasingly impatient himself, he might have tried locating it by scent.
"In detail," he added, teasingly sliding his fingers past the collar of her shirt to lightly trace over her collarbones, steadily moving lower. "And you might have to repeat yourself. Just to be thorough, and make sure I understand." He idly wondered whether their clothes would survive. Probably not, if it took much longer to get to the room, which was almost too bad. He kind of liked these pants.

Hur hur."You'd be impatient too, if you'd seen what I saw," she said, with a playful little growl. Pleasant tendrils of desire were rippling through her already, and the need to be close to him grew overwhelming. It was very unlikely that the clothes would survive; they would be removed the very instant it became socially acceptable. Predicting this, obviously, Alice had brought plenty of clothes for all her family members at Hogwarts, including Bella, of course. There might even be some Hogwarts robes.
Being disinclined to move her hand away from where it was currently residing, Alice used it to steer him through the comfortable underground tunnels, with the merest hints of pressure of her fingertips against his hip suggesting the way. Eventually they reached her door, and it was just about time. Jasper's teasing fingers were certainly doing their fair share to fan the flames currently spreading through Alice's body, and her breathing was becoming irregular.
The air in her room smelled like butter and salt–Alice's unpopcorning outfit was discarded in a basket to be dealt with later–as well as newly purchased clothing, and Alice herself. It didn't feel stale though, nor was any piece of furniture dusty. The House-elves did their duty even though no one was living in the room. The yellow hangings around the dark wood bed were truly ghastly though, in Alice's opinion.
"I'm always very thorough," she purred and turned to face her husband. Her eyes shone as her hands went to the front of his pants, to fiddle with the zipper. "And I'm not at all averse to repeating things. Over and over, if necessary." Ping. The zipper button had annoyed her, and now ricocheted off the wall as a result of a little too fierce tug. Oops.

His acute senses might as well have been nonexistent when it came to their surroundings—Alice was all that existed for him, all that he could focus on. Not even the slightly revolting smell of salted butter could spoil this moment. Alice's outer clothes were discarded in a few precise, practised motions, and with a little less force than she'd used on his. Several buttons merely fell and scattered about their feet, followed by the rent material, and at the same moment he bent to press his lips to her neck, his hands sliding down her bare sides.
"Oh, I think we'll have to keep these around for a while," he murmured appreciatively as he hooked his fingers into the delicate, lacy waistband of her panties. He took care to undress her the rest of the way without ripping anything more, trailing teasing kisses down her body as he knelt to pull off her shoes and socks as well
because they're not shooting a porno here. Between them his own clothes soon found their way to the floor before he easily lifted her and carried her to the waiting bed with a heady laugh.(And thus the reason for Jasper's constant bedhead despite never sleeping was explained.)
((Fade to black whenever you want. XD And we can pick up wherever, or consider the thread done. I'll assume they eventually hit the library
after a few dayssometime afterward?))
