[Open RP] Hiding in Ravenclaw

Wishbone had planned to go to the Sorting Room. However, as he entered, he heard a loud scream that made him bolt.

Bolt far enough to go back to Ravenclaw and hide under the sofa, whimpering all the way.

There was something loud and scary sounding in the sorting room. I don't like it. Wishbone hid his face with his paws.

"That's like seven floors down," I point out. I wonder if it's safe to try and pet him. I sigh. "Look, I don' know if it'll help, but if you come out and sit on the couch instead of under it, I'll pet you." It helped when Near held me, so maybe it'll help the dog.

It was still scary though. But Wishbone did crawl out from under the couch and sat near Mello.

"You should have been at Divination, then." I rub behind his ears. "The professor made us write down our worst fears." I look at my lap, away from him. It's still kinda raw.

I don't know if I could have done that. It's one thing for people to find out when you actually face it, but different if it's not happening. Then again, Wishbone's fear is loud noises. Not something about himself.

I turn to him and give him a weak smile. "I had someone there to help me." But, then, given my fear, if I faced it, actually, I wouldn't.

Your friend helped you? That sounds nice. I try to help my friends too. He was feeling better now about the whole loud noise thing.

I laugh a little. "I hear that's what they're for." I start running my hand down his back. It feels good to pet something warm and living. It was a different good from petting Near, though. A lot different. I could see why people had pets.

Wishbone stretched and wagged his tail. I think I remember seeing you in Runes, though.

"Yeah, I was there. I like that Wednesday guy. Not too sure about the Divination guy, though." Maybe that was due to the assignment. The class itself wasn't all that bad, for all it was loopy philosophy that probably would go over better in a Socratic dialog than a lecture.

I like Michael. He's the librarian. And I saw Professor Snape the other day! I hear he runs the Hospital Wing now

"I haven't met them yet. Been to the library, though, so I probably saw Michael. Haven't needed to go to the hospital wing." I scratch his back, looking for itchy spots. The kittens are a little more fun because they'll squirm, but Wishbone is comforting right now.

I saw Professor Snape when he unpopped. He let me lick the butter off his hand! For a dog, this was a high point in his life.

Wishbone's nose perked up. I smell chocolate.

"My chocolate. I was gonna get hot milk to make cocoa. It's not good for dogs. I'll grab you something, though." Cowards gotta stick together and all that.

Hmph. Wishbone hated being reminded of things he's not supposed to have. And Mello seemed the type to be able to catch him before he can get away.

The promise of something, though, did endear him to Mello again.

"Yeah, yeah, I know." I scratched behind his ears. "You wanna come with or hang out here?" I think for a moment. "Near might like the company if you don't wanna head back down yet."

Near? Wishbone sat up. Is he building card towers? I'm supposed to protect them!

"Well, if you don't want to go to the kitchens with me. He's working with legos. Matt and Ryuzaki got them for him. Your choice." I give him one last scratch before standing up. "Which way you want to go? If you want to go to our room, I'll go open the door for you so Near doesn't try to zap you."

Legos need to be guarded too! And Wishbone stood as much to attention as a dog could. Sir Wishbone is on it!

I can't help but grin a little at Wishbone, though I try to hide it. "All right, then. Down the hall and to your post." As we walk, I ask what do you want?"

I tap once on the door and poke my head in. "Hey, Near. I ran into Wishbone in the common room. He wanted to guard your legos."

Near is, indeed, bent over his legos, hair falling into his eyes as he stacks them. "Hello, Wishbone! I am sure the legos feel safer with you around."

As they should be! Wishbone spoke with a lot more bravado than he should exhibit, considering Mello found him cowering under the couch.

Well, since you won't let me have chocolate, can I have a bone? My old one is worn out.

I manage to hide my smirk at Wishbone's voice. "Yeah, I'll get you a bone. You sure you don't want anything, Near?"

Near looks up from his legos. "A roast beef sandwich? With horseradish. And a glass of apple juice."

"One bone, roast beef with horseradish and apple juice and one hot milk. I'll be back in a bit." I turn a glare on Wishbone, "Don't you let anything get to his legos, or else..." I'll tell everyone how I found you. Some threat.
